The manger and his dog couldn’t make you feel more welcome. He honestly makes the place perfect for every guest. Went above and beyond for me and my family we turned our two night stay into a four night stay. Modern archiecture at its finest, beautiful views of the Forrest. Perfect for families.

Perfect Place with plenty of space, amazing view, comfortable in great location
We are a family of 4 - we were relaxed entering the hotel and there was a feeling of calm, peace and tranquility, the hotel is located on a mountain and everything around is green and pastoral. We stayed in a kind of apartment with a kitchen, living room, balcony and 2 bedrooms. The apartment is clean, very spacious and comfortable, there was plenty of space for all the luggage (4 large suitcases, 3 trolleys and backpacks). The apartment is equipped with everything you need, including a full refrigerator and every morning we received fresh and warm rolls for breakfast.
Beyond that, the manager of the place, Reinhard, was very nice and took care of everything we needed during our stay (towels and replenishing things in the refrigerator).
We also received a red card from the hotel for the Black Forest that gave us lots of discounts and free entrances to all kinds of attractions during our stay.
In conclusion,
We were very satisfied, enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the place.
There is a reception problem in the area and when we arrived I didn't receive the email with instructions on where to leave the key and instructions on how to get into the place. After we walked around and searched, I saw the email and then we got it sorted. Also, when we set off every day there was no signal to make a route on Google Maps so you have to go down towards the town and there is a signal there.

Everything! Spacious rooms, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, balcony, friendly staff (excellent English if your German is lacking). Good restaurants a short distance away. We've been before and we'll come back again! We stayed for five nights.

Superb
The rooms are spacious, very well equipped and modern. We had everything we needed and the staff was very helpful and nice.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the beautiful view of the forrest.
Lot of nice places to eat, stores and tourist attractions are easy to reach by car (we didn't use public transportation).
The road toward the hotel was very bumpy, filled with holes, but I guess there's not much the hotel can do about that.
The only thing we didn't like about the room were pillows, which were very thin.
They don't have a secure solution to reserve a deposit on the credit card (in case of any damage to the room), so they asked me to send my card data by email or to allow them to photograph my card with their mobile phone. I refused both options because of security concerns and they were understanding about that, so we didn't have any problems, but I found the idea very unusual to be asked to just give such sensitive data to strangers.

They are building a new building and swimming pool next to the lodge. As a result the parking and driving pathway are unaccible. You have to park down the hill and climb on some illustrated trail with all the luggage. One of our suitcase wheels broke as a result of this.
We were informed on this renovation, only after we paid and couldn't cancel, less than a week before the arrival.
I booked an expensive place so we will have ckmfort and luxury and instead had to climb a hill with all the luggage, sometimes in the dark and rain, every day.
I would have expected some compensation as we booked long time before the renovation started and paid a lot of money.
Also the number of dishes in the apartment did not match the number of people. We were a family of 6, but had only 4 glasses, 3 plates etc...

The location and the view
No lights outside. It was terrible on arrival as we came late. No one was on reception to give us the keys, no message. Nothing. I called the property number, but the answer was from other property, 50 km away from this place and the clerk couldn't answer how can we het in. It took few calls until we found the keys.

Place without Service nor Attitude to the Customer

Me and my wife were celebrating 50 years of marriage. We decided to invite all our family to enjoy the Black Forest region.
I spent almost 7 thousand Euros for some apartments, for the period of 7 nights after reading the fine reviews on this lodge. Unfortunately, I must say that we left the place with a lot of frustration.
This place is not for elderly people. There are severe problems that prevent us to enjoy. There is a problematic access to reach the place. The parking lot is far away, down the hill – so you have all the time to climb up the hill by an unpaved trail. Imagine doing that with all your luggage…
My wife and I were very upset because we got apartment #4 on the ground floor. There is an option for a Ground-Floor Apartment, and we, in purpose didn’t order this category, because we don’t like to be in the same level of people walking next to our unit. Despite this, although I ordered another category – the Standard Apartment – they assign us on the ground floor level.
On top of it we suffer from an unpleasant and embarrass issue – the large window in our bathroom, is with transparent glass, which is wide open for guests and others peeking through this window.
There are many more defects that affect most of the guests. A very problematic defect is that there is not any service for you during your stay. We have been there for 7 nights, and nobody came to the apartment to clean, make the bed, change towels, throw away the garbage, add toilet paper or soap, etc., nothing at all
Another issue is that there is no one on site to speak with – the manager is controlling the place from distance – maybe from another site of the owners. Only junior representative is coming to the front desk for short time – between 4PM and 6PM – for making the check-in procedure on those days new guests are expected to arrive.
Be aware that there is no guests elevator.
If you try to complaint they are treating you like blackmailer. No attitude to the customer. Nothing at all.

The maisonette was spacious and perfectly planned, big rooms and space for a large family. Amenities were all there, kitchen fully equipped and even even the washing machine and dryer were put to use.
No air conditioning although it didn't get too hot, but that was during our stay.

the apartment was very beautiful designed, every spacious bathroom, had an attached bedroom :-), from every window, we could see trees and green grass, very good to relax, I liked the pots in the kitchen (marked from inside with liters)

Stunning chalets
The building and appartments are stunning. Best ski chalet I've stayed in. We had a ground floor apartment which was a fantastic size for the 2 of us and our dog. Kitchen had everything you needed and a big fridge / freezer for food.
The location was great as you could just walk out of the hotel and straight into the forest. Or walk into the village (and tourist information) in a few mins. Its well located near some of the key lakes and mountains in the region.
The building works. I didn't realise they would be ongoing. The note on the website referred to groundworks and nose before our stay. Although it was only a distraction when we were in and also parking for loading/unloading was a bit of a challenge details of what to expect on arrival would have managed expextations better.
Our room was ground floor with no balcony/doors/patio. It seemed a shame not to knock out the window and put doors as direct access to outside is always good. Also lots of people walking past the windows and our dog decided to bark at them all!!!
Also more (any) information in English would have been useful (sorry) including where the local tourist office or some recommendations of good walks etc. Google translate was a total lifesaver.

The place was very nice and super clean.
The staff wasnt there during the whole stay, when we asked for new towels we were told that they dont provide them and we should wash them in the laundary room. It was not clear to us that this is basically an appartment rental without any services and it was not written anywhere.
The kitchen was very well equipped but it would be nice if they could also provide some basic stuff like salt pepper and coffee. There is coffee filter machine but i would suggest at least to put a little coffee for people to use.

Absolutely amazing apartment and the view was awesome
The road up to the hotel - zero maintenance. icy snow made it a horrendous experience driving up. the hotel does nothing to advise or offer assistance even after I tried to contact the number. we were almost stuck. also parking is open air - really crazy in snowy conditions all the customers scraping snow for an hour in the morning to get the cars going. I would happily pay for a sheltered carpark if there was one at the hotel (not at Neighbouring hotel bec no one walks to walk when it’s pouring). also when conditions are bad there’s nothing within a 20 min walk (esp since no one wants to drive up or down that narrow road).
