About this house rental
Hummingbird Cottage is a beautiful house right next to the Dupont State forest. The Dupont State Forest is perfect for horseback trail rides, mountain biking, hiking and exploring many nearby waterfalls. The cottage is a lovely setting for a romantic get away or a peaceful personal retreat. Come see the leaves change, the flowers bloom or the snow fall. Our cottage is always open.

Did you know? mid May through mid June the flowers begin to bloom and the Blue Ghost Moths come to the mountain. The only place in the world to see the Blue Ghost Moths is here in the heart of the Dupont Forest. Thousands vie for limited passes to come at night in the Dupont to see the wonder of the Blue Ghost Moths, who are visible only during their mating season. No pass is needed for those staying at Hummingbird Cottage, as you are able to experience their wonder on the paths of our property.
Late September through mid October brings the color of fall to the forest. Hummingbird cottage is nestled in the heart of the forest and surrounded by nature's beauty as the leaves change from deep green to vivid yellows, oranges and reds. Enjoy lovely walks through nature's wonder on crisp afternoons and snuggle next to the fire in the evening.
Winter is a wonderful time to visit the cottage. The forest is quiet, especially after a snowfall. With the underbrush clear, hiking the forest in the winter is particularly interesting as you can see so many things that are hidden in the full bounty of summer. The cottage is snug, seclued and warm.

Hosts were great with communication & went way out of their way to return an item we left behind. The cabin was peaceful & perfect for a couples getaway. Well off any main road and tucked into the woods, yet still an easy drive into Brveard. If you're in DuPont to ride, run or hike the trails you can hop on right from the property!

Thanks to Charlene & Patty for the wonderful cottage! We took their advice on places to eat and were not disappointed. Great location 5 minutes from DuPont State Forest. Also, my kids loved meeting Belle the horse!

We stayed here for three days over Christmas. It’s a lovely cabin, petite, but for two people it was very comfortable. Our stay was during a bomb cyclone, not the best timing, the well froze the first night and there was an area wide blackout the second night, but the owners were on top of things with heaters on the well and then a generator to keep those going. Fortunately the gas stove was already on when the power went off, so we stayed warm until power was restored.

We loved this little cottage, and even though it rained through most of our stay, it was so relaxing and comfortable. Enjoyed the nice screened in porch and being with nature and there were so many amenities throughout. The hosts were most hospitable, and the Cedar Mountain Cafe (close by) was tops also. I hope to stay there again, I'm very drawn to this area.
