About this cabin rental
Experience log cabin living in a true Nature Lover's Paradise. Visit A 'GEM' in the Forest and leave your troubles behind. Located in 'The Land of the Waterfalls,' this cozy log cabin is situated on 17 private acres with its own trout pond. We do not allow "catch and release" and there is a per pound charge for fish caught.
Comfort in a rustic, private setting, this adorable cabin has it all. The property is located at the top of a gravel road. Rear Wheel Drive , low clearance, and hybrid vehicles are not recommended. Absolutely NO campers or trailers of any kind permitted. Fully furnished throughout, the master bedroom has a king-size bed and the 2nd bedroom has a queen-size and a twin bed. Warm yourself by the wood-burning fireplace, or relax in a rocker on the huge covered porch.
If you enjoy hiking, fishing, mountain biking, waterfalls, wildlife, outdoor adventures, or just plain relaxing, you are just going to love A 'GEM' in the Forest! Area attractions include the NEW Dupont State Forest which is home to High, Triple, and Hooker Falls (three miles away), Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests, Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Estate, Chimney Rock Park, Grandfather Mountain, and Cherokee Indian Reservation and Casino.
Plenty of activities to enjoy including hiking, pond fishing, fly fishing, mountain biking, swimming in lakes and streams, gem mining, kayaking, canoeing, white water rafting, wildlife watching, horseback riding, mountain climbing, rock climbing, zip lining, micro-brewery hoping, shopping, dining in or out, just plain relaxing and so much more ... if you want to do something, anything, you can find it here.

The cabin was clean, comfortable and well stocked. Lake is well stocked. A little too stocked for my taste. It was so easy to catch the fish that almost everytime you cadt, they immediately hit. Not much skill for an avid fisherman. Owner was attentive and very helpful.

Beautiful, comfortable cabin. Gravel driveway up the mountain a little intimidating but well worth it. Need 4WD

The property was nice. Sent a message a week prior asking about fishing. Was told it is 4/lb for trout which is fine. I was not told the pond was empty! When we asked on our first day there when it would be restocked we were told “it’s been fished hard and they have had a problem with a beaver that they were working on getting in restocked. We were there a week and it was never restocked. It was one of the main reason we booked the cabin. Wish we were informed ahead of time so we could have made plans to go fishing elsewhere. Feel we should have been comped something for the inconvenience, dishonesty and disappointment.
