This was by far one of the nicest rentals I've stayed in. Beds, linens, dishes - everything was in excellent condition and very comfortable. We loved spending our days hiking, then relaxing in front of the fireplace on the reclining (!!) couch. The screened in porch was lovely during a few rain showers, and on sunny days we enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking out into the woods. Another nice feature is that there is a small path in the back that leads down to a bench by the creek. We didn't have a dog with us, but this is definitely a dog-friendly property. But even for two people with no pets, this was an unparalleled stay! Best of Canaan is wonderful to work with, they are the only people we rent from in the Canaan Valley, always responsive and always knowledgeable.

This was our second time at Lazy S. We like this dog friendly property because of the fenced yard and the location. Located at the back of the Timberline community, it is very private and backs to the Wildlife Refuge. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather in early June and enjoyed outings to Blackwater Falls SP, Dolly Sods, and Canaan Valley SP. Don't miss the great ice cream at the Ice Cream Shop in Davis.

We were disappointed that the previous renters did not follow the rules and clean up after their dogs. There are so few pet friendly places to rent that as a pet owner every renter needs to do their part to assure there are places for us to bring our pets to. We loved the fireplace and being able to relax in the evening after skiing. The hike around the nearby lake was refreshing and beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked to be able cook and eat in by the fire.
