Can Tho Orchid Garden Homestay

The room is spacious, with big comfortable bed and high ceiling. Nice wooden set of table and chairs. Air Con and fan both work well so no worries about the heat. Very hot water for shower. I like the balcony on the top floor where you can have a view of the local area at night/morning ; exercise or a place to dry some clothings. There is a hair dryer in the room which is very handy !

No little fridge. The TV didn't work. The toilet seat was a bit akwart. May be my room toilet is small. if you are a big person then it may be a problem. You can request a different room, with luck! 😆 Extra hand towel would be usefull.

This was an unexpected booking. We had to make an urgent booking while in Can Tho, due to the below reason: ---------------- Originally, we made a booking with "Thanh Ha Guesthouse, Can Tho", however when we reached we were told about all the tour activities and prices. We found the prices quoted were double (also charging for a toddler at adult price) , so we decided to just stay in the room, as we were exhausted with the journey. But the hotel person Ha, quoted that our child would drop things, so it would be best to go to another hotel. In reality she just didn't want us to stay at the property, as we were not doing a tour at her expensive rates / prices . Note: This was after repeatedly asking her for the tour prices before reaching via booking.com messaging, she said, will discuss when we arrive. On arrival, it was all the drama, and her true nature was shown. I hope people don't get fooled with the reviews on that guesthouse, like I was. ---------------- Anyway, after all that drama, we got on the internet, and immediately booked this hotel. Turned out this hotel was opposite a nice children play area - like a mini exhibition/ rides ground, so it turned out to be fun... We went to the nearby supermarket and got essentials, and had a good meal at a restaurant nearby. The receptionist was helpful as well.

Nothing, it was good, for something unplanned.

The rooms were a good size and after a little hiccup at checkin we got the 2 rooms we had booked. The building is pleasant and beds were comfy.

Facilities were a little basic and the property is further from the river than we had hoped. Took a grab to and from each time, usually like to explore neighbourhood on foot but really nothing walkable around the hotel. Cheap and pleasant accommodation but a little way from the action.

Nhân viên (nam) nói chuyện hơi khó nghe. Vừa vào thì bạn bảo không có nhận đơn, sau đó bạn gọi bà chủ, mở loa to. Bà chủ khẳng định hôm nay không có đơn nào của Booking cả, mặc dù tôi đã đưa ra rõ email xác nhận. Sau đó tôi ra xe và ngồi trên xe điện thoại lại số bà chủ, tôi nói giọng to rõ và khẳng định nếu bảo không có đơn thì tôi sẽ báo bên Booking. Bà chủ liền bảo là có nhận rồi, lúc nãy tìm không thấy. Sau đó bà bảo tôi trả thêm hơn 30.000 gọi là hoa hồng gì đấy, tôi bảo cái đấy bà nói với Booking, tôi đặt trên tài khoản tôi bao nhiêu thì tôi trả bấy nhiêu. Lúc ấy bà mới bảo thôi thì vào nhận phòng đi. Tình trạng này tôi gặp rất nhiều lần khi đi tại các tỉnh miền Tây, Booking đã xác nhận nhưng bên Khách sạn/Nhà nghỉ bảo là hết phòng/không thấy đơn/Booking bị nhầm... Phần lớn là ngay các đợt giải chạy marathon, hàng ngàn người đến nên họ bảo vậy để nhận khách trực tiếp, họ có thêm tí tiền lời.
