Located on a 20 acre farm and holiday estate near Lydney, nestled between the River Severn and the stunning Royal Forest of Dean. One of four chalet/bungalow style apartments (Rosy Lea, Cherry Blossom, Perry Pear, Robins Nest). These spacious apartments are terrace with separate entrances and patios. One apartment has disabled access (Perry Pear. Please check availability of the disabled apartment before booking). Rosy Lea consists of two bedrooms (1 Double room and 1 Twin room), a spacious open plan living room with kitchen and dining area. The kitchen includes gas oven, fridge (with small freezer section), microwave, cooker, toaster, kettle and tea making facilities. Each chalet has a fenced patio area with outdoor seating. In front of the terrace our visitors have access to a large field, gravel path walks around the property and beautiful licensed fishing lakes - Ideal for walking the dog. We have two enclosed (fenced) areas for off lead dog exercise and a doggy dip. There is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy a leisurely barbecue or picnic. We have lovely views across a valley and surrounding grazing and farmland. Day tickets can be booked for fishing on our lakes whilst onsite. There is ample parking. This is a pet paradise, from the onsite dog friendly facilities to the nearby Forest of Dean with its miles of footpaths, lakes and cycle paths (just a short drive away) . We are a one mile drive from Lydney with its restaurants, shops, supermarkets, banks, parks, gyms, indoor pool. In the summer months there is also an outdoor pool. So many tourist attractions, sports and activities are within a 15 minute drive - Miniature Railway, Arboretum, Sculpture Trails, Castles, Tintern Abbey, Go Ape, Puzzlewood, Caves, Butterfly Zoo, Maze, Water Sports, Canoeing, Diving, Zip wire.

This small holding is home to the Dodson Family and includes four holiday apartments, a campsite, showground and indoor events arena (Forest Oak Barn). Both the indoor venue and show ground are available to hire and used for events. Long stays available upon request from Forest Oak Farm.

Accomodation was very clean..towels and bedding provided ..had the basic kitchen utensils required etc...furniture and decor could do with being upgraded as dated..walls have noticeable cracks and discolouration..Drawback was apartments are not very private and outlook spoilt due to camping tents/vehicles in front of properties...which is a shame..loved the areas to let dog off lead...gorgeous walks around the lakes and wooded areas.

The photos do not do this amazing apartment justice. It is spacious with large rooms, living area and large enclosed patio area, easily accessible by car and lovely little walks and secure dog run areas on site. Absolutely stunning views, only fields and trees for miles and yet a six minute drive to town for restaurants, takeaway and supermarkets, and 15 minute drive to a lovely farm shop with super local produce!The only thing we would have wanted extra would be more kitchen utensils, but we made everything work :)The hosts were welcoming from the start, even retrieving our lost ball when we couldnt get to it. There are dog training and agility classes on during the week, and we saw a KC dog show on our last day which looked a lot of fun, but dinmdnt hinder any part of our day. The facilities externally are lovely too with all the home amenities you can think of within a 2 minute walk.Local walks do need to be driven too, but the closest we started, was only a 7 minute drive away. There is information about buses and walks locally, but you would really benefit with a car staying here, it makes everything very accessible.We will definitely be back! Thank you so much!

Great location for visiting the Forest of Dean with great family bike rides and Go Ape fun for the kids. We visited in April over the easter weekend so the site wasn't busy with campers. The accommodation was warm, spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable 3 night stay. The great views over open fields and ponds were scenic and very relaxing.

The lodge was perfect for our needs for a couple of nights stay with our grandson. Nice and warm and plenty of space. Lovely view of the hills from the huge lounge window. Full kitchen with everything you need. Only small critizism is that double bed mattress is very soft and could do with replacing. But otherthan that all good. Our stay was before the Easter rush and so only us in the lodges and one other customer on the camp site.

Lots of things to do within 30 minute drive, perfect for lots of dog walks. Lots of pubs and cafes close by. Campsite was peaceful and has 2 off lead areas for dogs. The apartment was clean and comfortable although it did lack a few of the basic kitchen utensils.

We had a lovely stay in Lydney, our host Michelle was on hand for check-in and if needed throughout our stay. The chalet was comfortable and clean, very spacious and the views were stunning, plenty of space for our dog ( 2 designated fenced off areas for her to run around ) no WiFi but it wasn’t a major problem, would maybe put a small lamp in lounge area as lounge lights a bit bright for the evening, when your winding down. Overall was a lovely couple of days 😊😊

This was the best dog friendly property we have stayed in. Great secure outdoor area and exercise fields for the four legged member of our family. Accommodation was clean, warm and comfortable with everything you could need. Lovely part of the country, we will visit again in warmer weather.

Great place to stay - fab location for all activities we went to FoD bike park and local forest walks. Fantastic takeaway curry from The Bengal Balti we highly recommend. Everything was great - if i could mention one suggestion a bigger pan would be good in the kitchen as the one supplied was not big enough for 4 large pasta portion. Also we couldn't see where to put the recycling - sorry. We would definitely recommend this place to stay - there is no wifi but good 4g - Teens were happy with this.

Very pleasant weekend away. Nice and quiet, with lots of space for dogs. Only issue was there is no WiFi here and couldn’t connect devices via phone. You can see the owners have and are spending money here for excellent on site facilities for campers and caravanners. Easy access to several walks and the forest.

We found the property was clean and had all we needed for our weeks break, contact with the owner was easy. The area of the Forest of Dean is very nice and the forestry commission look after it well with easy access for people to enjoy. Plenty of nice places to eat that are dog friendly.

One of the most amazing short breaks we have had in the UK because of the location. So relaxing and peaceful and the grounds were beautiful to walk around with our dog. 2 secure fenced off dog exercise areas were brilliant. A few small lakes, waterfalls added to the tranquility. The cottage was well equipped and clean and a lovely fenced off patio with table and chairs. Michelle was very welcoming when we arrived. Great places to visit with only a short drive, including Symonds Yat and Chepstow . All in all a wonderful place to visit and stay. Can't wait to go back.

The property was as described. we found it to be very clean and well equiped. We had a great view of the hills and lake, i dont know if you get the same view in the summer when campers would be outside. We took our dog and there was a safe space for him to run out of the door to the patio area. We would stay again as a winter getaway becuause great links to other places. our only thing we did not like was the crinkly noise that the matress protectors made which spoilt our sleep. A VERY NICE STAY

Excellent value for money. Well thought of accommodation really geared to doggy families. Spacious and clean. Lovely surroundings and great enclosed dog exercise area. Gave a 3 for communication as owner was getting my enquiries so nearly went elsewhere. No reflection on the owner. Bed was a little uncomfortable and bedroom very hot otherwise nice and cosy elsewhere. One suggestion is larger or more rugs perhaps for the elderly pooches that aren't great on hard floors but do understand the hygiene factor. Would definitely recommend to doggy families

Great space for a family with outdoor places to explore. Close to town where a visit to Hipp cafe is definitely worthwhile. Lovely horses to see in the field and lovely grounds to walk.
