About this cottage rental
This stunning property has been lovingly recreated and rebuilt from scratch to the exact architectural specifications of the 19th century house once at this site. The new cottage encompasses the quaint look, high stud and roominess of the old, but also incorporates the insulation, modern outfitting and comfort of the new.
From the moment you drive your car behind the drive's unique electric gates you enter a safe haven in the city. Before you the light, airy Zen garden designed by the owner and actioned by the master landscaper Lindsay Philps from GoFar Landscaping Company. Pause at this unique, private vista knowing it is yours to enjoy for the duration of your stay.
Once inside the house, explore the 2 generous bedrooms, living area, well-appointed galley kitchen and the "has it all" bathroom. Double-glazed sash windows, ceiling roses and ornate fire-surrounds create a sense of atmosphere harking back to a less stressful era. This attention to detail is, these days, somehow absent in most modern spec homes. Built to last, built to impress, built for safety.
This regenerating area of Christchurch is close to everything. You can start every day with a quick walk to Little Poms cafe for a wonderful breakfast and brunch and later meander down to the famous Pomeroys Public bar and restaurant. Or, by car, continue along Kilmore Street and within two or three minutes you are in the exciting Casino precinct with its Victoria Street dining and bars.
Once you have finished with your evening's activities retire to Fitzgerald Cottage, pop some of your favourite music on through the bluetooth-able sound system and relax in the warmth and comfort of your Christchurch haven.

Excellent comms. Lovely clean and warm. Bathroom was good with a brilliant shower. Beds comfy. Backyard was relaxing with water feature and trees . We walked to the city centre but the cottage is close to some well appointed bus routes. We used 2 buses to and from airport. The second bus (#7) from airport drops right outside the cottage. Overall a great place to stay for the city and events

From the booking and communication with the host through to the stay, everything was smooth and pleasant. The presentation of the house and location were excellent. We enjoyed the range of restaurants & cafes nearby and the walks along the river to city central. Highly recommended.

Such an amazingly designed and well though out house, I won't forget this place! Check in was easy, was able to check in earlier than listed which was nice. The house had everything we needed.
