Central location and its cleanliness

I’ve stayed here twice, and overall, it’s a great place. However, during my second stay, the spa wasn’t really hot. I messaged the host, and he mentioned I needed to wait about 4 hours, but even then it didn’t fully heat up. It’s not a major issue, but since the hot spa is one of the highlights and part of what we paid for, I hope they can improve or check the jacuzzi system for future guests.

The property was advertised as having an outdoor spa with barbecue facilities. This is the biggest reason for my booking. Before check in we bought meat etc and ingredients for an oven bake dish. We were expecting quests for tea. So disappointed to find the barbecue rusted out - cleaning would not fix. The oven looked good but had a used tray still in it. No oven dishes for me to cook with. The dishwasher was full of all the dishes for me to empty. The pot was not cleaned properly and the scrubber was old, I bought a new one. There were towels but no hand towel or face flannels - I bought some. There was a beer can in the rubbish tin. The outside area needed weeding and tidying. When I turned the jets on in the spa it filled up with bubbles. Obviously the last people had added those. So hard to relax in a spa that felt unclean. I rang the hosts number and got no reply but he did call me back quickly and listened to my concerns. He contacted his partner in chch quickly and she brought around a grill plate that could be placed on a stove top the next day. We had planned this awesome few days after a stressful experience and felt very disappointed. The rest of the apartment was clean and if these points were bought up to standard it would be a beautiful place to stay.
