In short, highly recommended!

The place is beautiful with a large terrace overlooking the mountains. Close to the Caminito del Rey and with plenty of opportunities for hiking.

The only downside is the steep slope to the appartement (but that’s to be expected when living in the mountains, and it’s still manageable).

El Cherro Accommodation

Close enough to the train station. Kitchen, bathroom and then bedroom / living area.

When I was there it was quite hot and the air-conditioning was very noisy, found it hard to sleep.

Nature Lover's Paradise

The location of this apartment is something special. Perched on the hillside overlooking the river and gorge below. Outdoor space with table and chairs. Walking distance to the bus for the Caminito del Rey. Walks into nature on your doorstep. The apartment is perfect for self catering. Lovely bathroom with a large walk-in shower. Great pellet burner for colder nights. Spacious bedroom with a comfy bed. I really appreciated the coffee maker with the coffee pods provided. Clear and helpful instructions to find the place.

Nice quiet apartment for a short stay.

Nice single unit that was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Friendly local neighbors. Coffee pods provided. Close to the El Chorro train station when visiting for a short stay for the Caminito del Rey hike.

No complimentary toiletries and unfortunately some old mould in the brick shower recess.

Disappointing

It is a beautiful location, and within walking distance from the town centre where the buses leave for Caminito del rey.

You have to walk 150 meters up a very steep concrete path, there are no steps. No handrail and no lighting. If you are not young and fit I would not recomend this place. This information is absent on booking, also the accomodation has no air conditioning.

Just what we needed

Basic but clean and had everything we needed. Pellet burner was a bonus. The shower was fantastic and the location was tip top with great access to climbing and the caminito del ray. Full fridge freezer, hob and oven made for a great self catering experience.

Some more drinking glasses and some kitchen scissors would have been good.

Exceptional

The location was superb. Right on the mountainside! A fabulous view of the mountain that people come from far and wide to climb! There is a small shop close by that sells all you need... water, wine, bread and canned foods. There is a coffee shop close by too .... and a railway station... so you can get to Malaga in less than an hour. AND... very important... you can get a bus to the Camino del Rey.... frequently. The property was modern and spotless and the neighbours were delightful.

El Nildo

Great spot and atmosphere. Good amount of room for a couple. Everything there that we needed. Lovely lady next door made sure we had a regular change of clean towels, bath mat and kitchen towels.

Only extras really needed are hooks or rails in the shower room to hang towels and washbag. Nowhere to put anything when you get changed.

It was hard to warm the place up because of the location of the stove, such that it was always cold in the bathroom and bedroom. The place is poorly insulated. We could hear the neighbors having breakfast while in bed.

Value for money - cheap and cheerful (ish). Does what it says on the tin. Pretty much a bed and a small kitchen. Bathroom/shower was pleasant.

Hard to find location, directions should be improved upon. Noise levels from both permanent residents next door and other apartment guests was very loud. There are not very good views from the property itself as advertised.

De locatie El Chorro was moeilijk te vinden, de weg was opgebroken. El Chorro is ook een restaurant en daar kwamen we terecht, zij spraken geen engels, de eigenaar vertelde ons dat het een andere locatie is hoger gelegen. Later bleek dat ook en het was moeilijk bereikbaar met de auto. lange trap voor het huis.

El Nido en el Chorro, idílico emplazamiento

La casa tenía todas las comodidades necesarias, y el menaje de cocina permitía cocinar desayunos o cenas sin ningún problema. La cama era cómoda, y con el edredón y la colcha se pasaba incluso calor. Especial mención merece el baño: pequeño pero no demasiado (hay sitios que se pasan de estrechos, en mi opinión), y con un estilo que me gustó mucho. La ubicación es perfecta para visitar el Caminito del Rey, pero también para hacer otras rutas GR que pasan literalmente al lado de la casa, como la de la Escalera Árabe. El hecho de que se pueda llegar en tren directamente me ha parecido muy bueno también, aunque no haya sido nuestro caso. El pueblo además es muy interesante, con la central eléctrica ahí mismo... da la sensación de estar "en construcción", uniéndose casas antiguas (o derruídas) con nuevas construcciones. Solo había un par de locales para comer, pero al ser muy distintos entre sí, ofrecían una cierta variedad. ------------------------------------------------------------- ENGLISH: The house was fully equipped, especially the kitchen, so we could arrange dinners and breakfasts without issue. The bed was comfortable, and we were very warm -maybe a little too much- with the eiderdown and the quilt. We really appreciated the dimensions and style of the toilet: small but definitely not cramped. The placement of the house is wonderful to visit not only the Caminito del Rey, but also to go on hiking following the routes that pass near by the house, like the Escalera Árabe (Arab Stairs). Very beautiful and calm environment. The village and the house can be reached by train directly, which is also a very good point. The small village is very interesting in my opinion, with a clashing feeling of old constructions and somehow deserted spots compared to new houses and the big hotel at the town´s entrance. These "under development" vibes were very appealing for me. There were only a couple of bars/restaurants open, but it was sufficient for us.

Como hizo un tiempo muy bueno para ser Noviembre, quizá habríamos agradecido tener una sábana y una manta para cambiar el edredón. Pero aclaro que no lo comentamos a los dueños (muy atentos) porque nos dimos cuenta después de la primera noche. --------------------------------------------------------------- ENGLISH: Our only comment was that in November the weather was extremely good in the area, so we would rather used a blanket instead of a Nordic eiderdown. However, we didn't reach out the owners as we considered this too minor and just realized about it after the first night.
