Nice and cosy place

It’s a nice Spanish house, perfect for a romantic getaway. It’s quiet and the location is beautiful. The host is very supportive and helpful. Place was clean and had all needed facilities. Only a kettle was missing :)

In January it was a bit cold, we had to warm the place up with wood, which at the end made it very cosy and for 3 days it was really nice, but I can imagine for a longer stay it might be tedious.

How did it get such a high score!?

The location. It was close to the end of the Caminito del Rey. The courtyard was pretty and it was nice having the whole place to ourselves. Lovely views from outside.

It is such a shame as this place could be lovely, but this property is not cared for. It is run down and tired. It is very dark inside and the furniture is old and uncomfortable. There is no oven and a lack of decent cutlery/ crockery/glasses etc. The shower curtain did not stop water from flowing across the floor and the shower head didn't stay on as it didn't fit. It is a long way from any shops. The pool had a purple line around it, which shows a chemical imbalance so we didn't go in and loungers were scattered around and had no cushions. The outside was untidy and not cared for.

the setting is spectacular, one feels surrounded by a profound quietness..exactly what we were seeking,... we found our little casa to be exceptionally clean, well provisioned and tastefully decorated..the pool was an added delight.

A lovely farmhouse type of stay. Clara was exceptionally helpful, even offering to shop for us before we got there, to make things easier for us. The El Chorro landscape is magnificent and we went for some strenuous walks. The best thing was the pool to cool off in after our walks.

It’s a bit out of town. Not a problem if you’re driving, but we were using public transport and there were no taxis so we had to walk a bit extra.

Very pleasant. The apartment is very cute and rustic.

The place was well provisioned. good attention to detail. Soap, sponges, some instant coffee and oil. These little touches made our trip better.

There is an unexpected step we kept tripping on. My husband bruised his toe and it was sore for several days. The shower leaks like crazy onto the rest of the bathroom floor. We had to build a dam with towels to keep more water in. Even that didn’t keep all the water in.

Cortijo Don Rodrigo was a fine place to stay, We would recommend both the house and the location.

Clara was an excellent host responding immediately to any questions and offering extra help. The house was warm and easy to live in with a well equipped kitchen area, comfortable bed and plenty of hot water. It was well sighted for El Chorro rock climbing and was within easy reach of the small towns of Alora and Ardales.

Great place to stay to visit Caminito del Rey and Ronda.

Perfect location: very close to the Caminito del Rey. The appartment is really outdated of course, but because we were the only guest we had very much privacy on our terrace and in the private swimming pool.

very quaint traditional old fashioned Spanish villa, nice outdoor seating, small pool overlooking lovely landscape, most amenities, clean, host was very contactable and informative.

ant infestations (but provided with any killer), annoying about wasted food, fridge very noisy, having to take all the rubbish with us at end of stay, only one small bin bag provided and 2 loo rolls for 6 nights, no shower gel etc provided, no oven, shower curtain made it impossible not to flood the bathroom. definitely need a car to get around. local shop was never open when we went to it so nearest shops were quite a distance away.

Lovely location. Not far from the Caminito del Rey which we did. A very welcome pool surrounded by orange trees. Owners very helpful. Would stay again.

Superb

The location was like something out of a dream, I could have stayed there forever. It was serene and secluded yet not too far from the El Chorro centre and tons of hikes and activities around. The house itself is lovely, cosy and homely. And the pool with the beautiful mountainous background is just the cherry on top.

The benefits of the house definitely outweighed any negatives for me but I thought it would be good to mention the few we encountered. It didn't seem like a very thorough cleaning had been done prior to our arrival. There was a discarded cigarette butt on the bed, some dishes were dirty and there was lots of long hairs on the furniture. Also one thing to be wary of is that when taking a shower the water leaks out onto the bathroom floor and out into the hallway, due to the poor design of the shower.

Good place to stay for outdoors activities in the surrounding of El Chorro.

Good location for outdoor activities. Host is extremely friendly and responsive. Place is good enough for 2 people.

We were there in March for 2 days. No heating in the main room and bathroom so when it is cold you have to put on a wooden stove (at least for the main room). Missing some breakfast bowls for muesli eaters.

Amazing Spanish house and hosts in the hills of el Chorro

The hosts were incredible and so helpful. The location was stunning and the house had everything we needed; we didn’t want to leave. So easy to get to and so easy to get into town and to the climbing/hiking. Such good value too!

Acomodação simples, natural, mas aconchegante, num lugar incrível!

Adorei a estádia em Cortijo Don Rodrigo. Antes da nossa chegada, fomos contatados pela proprietária que nos deu todos os detalhes de como entrar no alojamento e ela foi muito simpática. A casa estava quentinha e bem aconchegante. O espaço é simples, natural, mas se vê que foi bem pensado e tem tudo o que é preciso para uma boa estádia. Fica perto do centrinho de El Chorro. Tem excelente vista! A estrada que leva até lá não é das melhores, mas é muito bonita, cercada de verde, flores e, é claro, a vista das montanhas!! Meu companheiro e eu conseguimos descansar bastante (estavámos mesmo a precisar) e acordamos todos os dias ao som dos pássaros. Como fomos numa época mais fria não conseguimos aproveitar a piscina. Mas essa também está numa localização no Cortijo. Resumindo: Eu e meu companheiro amamos essa estádia (e olha que ele é polêmico para gostar de alguma coisa! kkkk).

Usei o Waze para me deslocar até a acomodação. Não conhecia o El Chorro e o GPS me encaminhou por outra estrada que ficava a 51 minutos de distância do Centrinho do El Chorro. No meio do caminho, encontramos uma parte da estrada cortada e tivemos que pedir informações a pessoas locais, que foram até muito simpáticas. No final percebi o por quê: o acesso (estrada) ao Cortijo Don Rodrigo por El Chorro não é muito bom, então o GPS manda entrar por outro lado/outra cidade. Da acomodação propriamente dita, não tem nada que eu não tenha gostado. Amei tudo!

Un sitio espectacular, las vistas, el cielo estrellado, el entorno, la piscina.

Aunque cuando entramos acababan de limpiar, para alguien escrupuloso no es lo óptimo. La cortina de la ducha, la de los armarios... No estaban en condiciones. Soy alérgico al polvo y la verdad es que dentro de casa no lo pasé del todo bien.

La piscina y el colchón .La casa en sí tenia de todo.La dueña no la vimos todo por wasap.muy amable nos explicó todo lo que visitar.

La ubicación en medio de la nada una carretera de tierra de un sentido.Si eres miedos@ no lo aconsejo..Lo veo más para excursionistas.Todo con pastor seco.. La casa tenía hormigas por todo el comedor que subían al sofá..
