Unbearable Stench and Poor Maintenance

We recently stayed for three nights in this Genova apartment with our family of five and, unfortunately, had an extremely negative experience. Our troubles started upon arrival, as we were unable to gain entry due to a technical issue with the door lock. Although the call center was helpful in resolving the problem quickly, this was only the beginning of our issues. Upon entering the apartment, we were immediately hit by a horrible sewage smell coming from the toilets. Despite our efforts to air out the apartment by opening the windows, the stench persisted throughout our stay. We contacted the tenant through the Booking.com app, but received no response to our complaints. The odor was so nauseating on the last morning that we couldn't wait to leave. In addition to the smell, it was evident that the apartment had not been properly maintained. It was inadequately cleaned, with dust visibly accumulated under the beds. The hair dryer was not only faulty, but also dangerous – it emitted sparks when we attempted to use it. Furthermore, the chair cloths were dirty and, in one case, completely missing (see attached photo). The unbearable stench and lack of care completely ruined our stay. We only endured the experience because finding alternative accommodation for five people on a busy weekend would have been extremely difficult and expensive. We're writing this review to caution others against booking this apartment, as we don't want anyone else to suffer through a similar experience.

the apartment was clean and spacious

the apartment has a lot of problems: - location is very hard to find and you can only access by walking - no parking near the apartment, if you are a family travelling with a car you are f… - you can’t shower 2 people at the same time, for groups or families travelling together this is really a problem. the water closed anhave to fix it mannually - you cant have 2 or more applicances at the same time plugged in . the power explodes - the apartment has no AC, it is crazy hot, the fans dont help

All in all, the stay wasn't bad, but I expected more from it.

The bathroom was amazing and I liked the bedroom. After getting a fan to put in my bedroom, the heat also didn't bother me, even though it was very hot outside. The location was ok and the neighborhood was fine as well. The apartment itself looked nice too and it was pretty comfortable.

The washing machine didn't work, and the dishwasher stopped working after a few days. We didn't have a kitchen towel, a cleaning sponge, or a dish rack. There was also no salt and no oil (things you usually find in an apartment). Also, the dishes weren't very clean (some were oily). Another thing: there were only two functional fans, so one bedroom remained hot. I understand that air conditioning can't be installed, but I expected a fan in every room or at least in the bedrooms considering how hot it was outside. We reported the problem and we received another fan, so that problem was solved. I'm not a very needy person and I can adapt to conditions that aren't top notch, but I expected more after paying 40 euros per night.

The property is up a very steep hill and no mention of the lift a few hundred feet away. I feel mentioning this on the post would be helpful. We only found out after hauling 70kg of luggage up that hill!! Lighting wouldn't switch off in living area. WiFi was sketchy. I was overcharged £600 and spent a number of days chasing refunds. I did get the money back and was quoted system issues as the reason. This may have been a one off.

Nice place, but NO AC! Hilly walks to anything and management that won't answer calls.

This is a good apartment on the 4th floor, but there is a small elevator. The apartment is very spacious and would sleep 6 easily. The shower in the master is nice and the bathtub in the main bathroom is also nice. The kitchen is well equipped and the condiments are a nice added feature. The location is just OK. Anywhere you want to go will include a steep walk either uphill or downhill. The metro stops are about 1/2 mile away, but it does take 15-20 minutes to get there. It's not so bad in the mornings, but walking uphill after a long day sometimes wore on us. This is a nice place, but I probably wouldn't stay here again due to the air, but in the Fall/Winter months it would be fine, just the daily walks.

The management is not the best. The parking is very limited and the staff was late and we had to wait in a no parking area. The person who let us in didn't even have the right keys! They had NO AIR, as promised. We had to open the windows, which let in all the noise, humidity (when it rained) and mosquitos. The bites we woke up with were numerous. Many European inn owners just don't get that the reason we want AC is not just the temperature! The lights in the living & dining areas would not turn off, so you have to close some interior doors to sleep. We had a checklist which included trash and turning the lights off. I texted Marina when we arrived and she answered right away, but when I texted her about the issues we were having, she didn't answer at all.

Spaziosa ma da migliorare

La struttura si trova su delle scale, non comode per tutti, ma il taxi può portarvi a poca distanza sull'imbocco della strada dall'alto. La strada è tranquilla e scendendo in pochi minuti si è in pieno centro. L'appartamento è spazioso e luminoso, molto moderno. La climatizzazione è stata ottimale, fuori ha fatto molto freddo ma la casa era calda.

Non incontrare ne essere mai contattati da persone in carne ed ossa è un po' inquietante, si ricevono codici e pulsanti da un sistema per il quale è necessario avere un po' di padronanza della tecnologia. Le istruzioni e le regole sono tante, fornite in maniera fredda e meccanica ma confusionaria da continui messaggi automatici. La pulizia non era il massimo, ho trovato della spazzatura degli ospiti precedenti in un secchio. Soprattutto per la camera padronale il problema è la forte puzza che arriva dagli scarichi, verso il bagno c'è anche un grosso buco nel soffitto da cui si vedono delle tubature. La casa è moderna nelle dotazioni ma c'è poca cura dei dettagli.
