The hotel is a perfect example of style over substance.

A stylish hotel in a great location. Excellent, friendly staff. Rooms have been tastefully designed and decorated, but at the cost of functionality (see below)

Poor facilities in the room - i.e. hanging rails but only 3 hangers; no cupboard space - the majority of our clothes remained in our suitcase as there was nowhere suitable to put them; small bath towels; the shower door leaked; expensive breakfast

A great short stay in an amazing space in Eindhoven!

My favorite thing about Hotel Mariënhage is the view from our enormous window to the church, it feels so close, so it nearly becomes the part of the room. I love sitting on the little bench by the window, drinking my coffee and looking outside. As an interior designer, I absolutely loved the playful design details in the room, especially the clever church-inspired elements and the beautifully designed headboard.

If I had to name one downside, it would be the snack machine in the hall that refused to accept my card. Everything else was perfect.

Unique building, great location, helpful and friendly staff.

Location perfect but the character of the building was unique.

Room needed a little TLC, with the light hanging out of the ceiling slightly and some minor damage to walls. Shower head could have been more powerful and also a better seal along the shower door to stop flooding.

It is 3 am and I’m starting to write this review before I can post it after my check out in few hours.

I am so disappointed and annoyed by booking this hotel. In general, hotels in Eindhoven leave lots to be desired for the price they charge but having spent 300 eur on a ‚luxury’ hotel, I am angry. First things first: the bed. When I came in, I was negatively surprised to see a double bed (two beds put together) versus a queen/king one. In my head, I said to myself ‚Ok, probably not gonna stay here again’ as it’s a very uncomfortable set up to sleep on. But they had no other options in the whole hotel. Fine, my bad. But the hardness of the mattress is another level bad. Mind you, I’ve been buying hard mattresses all my life but this one just kills me. Immediate hip and back pain the next day + as a result of this ‚luxury’, I am going to be tired second day in a row (spending two terrible nights here). That’s not very great on a busy work trip. I can’t wait to leave this place. Then there’s the problem of cleanliness. Right upon entry, I’ve noticed dirty liquid stains on the floor. Good thing I took slippers with me - there were more stains in the room and the bathroom on the floor. The sink had discoloration which I discovered I could partially remove myself - meaning it has not been cleaned with a detergent. Alright…not sure a ‚luxury’ hotel should be like this. As for the room decor or size, I honestly don’t care that much - yes, it’s pretty and maybe not super large but it’s the basics such as cleanliness and comfort that were not there and matter most. Now on to the best part - the shower. During the first night, it flooded the whole bathroom. I had lots of ‚fun’ cleaning it while tired as hell from my trip. No phone in the room meant I had to get dressed again and go downstairs to the reception to ask for help. The nice person told me they were fully booked (interesting seeing how I could find a free room on the Booking app) and…GAVE ME TOWELS TO CLEAN IT.

Stylish hotel in converted monastery in great location and great breakfast.

Impressive hotel in a converted monastery with plenty of rooms and stairs and artful decorations. Sometimes the number of stairs and steps can be a bit challenging, but there are lifts available. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide range of options and good coffee.

Dazzling steps in the stairwells. Would be good to provide a pair of sliders to put on your feet while in your room. A few more options to hang up wet clothes in the bathroom.

Would definitely stay again, what a great place!

Great location, great hotel, great room, great staff - what a wonderful place to stay. The hotel is located is almost in the city centre, so everything is in the walking distance. Very clean room, impeccable bed sheets and the bathroom is sparkling clean.

In the room we were staying the windows face the internal atrium, so there was no fresh air from the street and we had to rely on the air conditioning system. They have rooms with the windows facing the street, but we wanted to be in this particular room as it was looking so great! Otherwise, it's just an unforgettable place to stay.

Everything was perfect, comfortable and really, really enjoyable. Reception staff were superb and especially nice and helpful! Totally will stay here again when I come to Eindhoven. I would really recommend everyone to stay here, it was super clean. Breakfast was really quality food.
