Really nice to start Karhunkieros trek

10meters from begining of trail Breakfast is huge Cabin is confortable Keeper is really friendly and good advisor. (You were right about weather condition with rain 4 drops day next to campground oulangan) Shower available for free. Great to be fresh for hiking day

Miss electricity or at least a light in cabin. Area between cabin and visitor center is a bit messy

Exceptional

Amazing place in the middle of nowhere, Salla. We spent two nights in a brand new cabin up a gentle slope with a breathtaking view. On site, Keijo welcomed us so warmly, assisted us in all our plans and gave us many insights about the region and future travel possibilities. Yes, we will return here for more! From the Karhunkierros center, there are so many hiking -aside other outdoor activities- options, which Keijo gladly shared with us. We came to spend two nights in a busy schedule of travelling 20 days through Finland, and came to complete rest in this place. Stress and a rushed feeling are not go be found here in Salla. This is the perfect place for discovering nature, getting oxygen and vitamins, rewilding and resourcing. Thank you Keijo for making our stay even more memorable! We left a part of our hearts here!

Cute cabin

Cute and cozy cabin. Nice to stay in a national park. The cabin was very clean and the stove was great. As long as you are ready for no electricity/light/ water then it really is great. Check in was easy and staff answered all our messages quickly and were very helpful

No outdoor toilets available. A light in the cabin would have been useful. The description said that there was a shared kitchen but there was none. WiFi only in restaurant which closed at 18.00

One night stay

Cabins are cozy and quiet and few spacious

When booking I didn’t get an access code to the main building neither did the people on the other cottage. That means no access to toilets & shower - if you book make sure to call and ask for the code ! Luckily an employee saw as trying to get in with the wrong code and arranged a code for us. Also the bunk bed solution is great for space saving- but if you need to heat the cabin it will be too hot on the upper bed when it’s still too cool on lower one. The wood for fireplace were rather humid - so take your own supply to make it easier to make a fire. Just heads up - otherwise the cabin served well for overnight stay

I can‘t recommend it.

Small huts in the middle of the forest. It was very calm and natural. There is a fireplace close to the hut. You can take a shower in the visitor center.

The bedsheets were dirty and full of dog hair. The entire hut was shaking everytime sombody moved. So we could‘nt sleep well.

Great place to stay in Oulanka

Great location, super cute wooden houses. Wood for fire is available. There is shower in info center from 9 to 17 o'clock. No additional costs for a dog.

Aamiainen oli hyvä (lisämaksulla). Hyväkuntoinen mökki ja kerrossänky ja vaikka näin kesällä ei tarvittu, olisi ollut puulämmitteinen liesi käytettävissä.

Ravintolarakennus, jossa myös suihku sijaitsee, oli kiinni klo 16:00 - 9:00. Olisi myös ollut hyvä jos olisi ollut käytettävissä jokin keittiötila.
