Perfect for couples and families

Villa Karhukoto was amazing. We couldn’t ask for more. There is everything for cooking, sauna, comfortable beds, very clean. For room heating we used AC and fireplace. First grocery store is around 25 min of walk away. Villa is made for families or 2 couples. You won’t regret it.

Cozy cottage

The cottage provided everything one needs for a stay of a couple of days. Kitchen was well-equipped and the sauna was excellent. The washing machine was a great plus. The host was excellent and available whenever they were needed.

The pillows are very soft and small. There is a lot of light pollution from Ruka as well as from street lightning right outside.

Perfect accommodation to discover Finland's nature.

Excellent accommodation - everything is just right there and we would come back anytime. Stylishly furnished cottage with a well-equipped kitchen, cozy bedrooms (hard mattresses), a comfortable bathroom with a perfectly functioning sauna and a foot massager, which works wonders after long walks. The location is also very convenient with short distances to shopping, gas and attractions in the area. Communication with the hosts was also given and easy at all times.

The only tiny restriction is that it is not a cabin in solitude as you might assume by the description. It is located outside Ruka in a wonderful location, but with several identical cabins built in the forest - fortunately, however, on the edge with a beautiful view from the breakfast table into the forest. Also, each of these cabins has its own street lamp outside the door that brightly shines all night. The light is not held back by the installed curtains or blinds, which means light-sensitive folks should bring something to darken with. It would be fantastic if the streetlights dimmed or went out at night, for the sake of the environment and aurora viewing.

Very comfortable and cozy place. We enjoyed it a lot and the sauna and the foot massage where a great addition. Also, the communication was very helpful.

Oil, baking paper and toilet paper were missing, but thats not a big deal and otherwise the place was equipped very well!
