The house in the forest

We, a family of five, stayed at the Durand's private house this october for one week and had a great time. Beautifully re-made house with 2 floors, big outdoor wooden terrace, directly adjacent to a local "Landes" forest. Super quiet neighbourhood. Very well equipped place, everything is there and works. Nice, light rooms, good beds, very nice kitchen and living room. After sunrise the sun is on the house and terrace, though there are trees shading most parts of the terrace except the upper part directly in front of the huge glass windows. Here we were able to enjoy the sun from 11 am to 3 pm. By car the house is only 1-2 min away from "les Bourdaines", a local beach access, maybe 5-10 min by foot. Le Penon with some Shops is in same distance. The host and his local services were very friendly and helpful, organisation was very easy. In summer it must be terrific to be as close to the shore and avoid taking the car, plus having the cool forest behind the house. We highly recommand this place and we would come back any time.

The detached house is in a quiet area of woodland about a 10 minute walk to the local market and local shops and restaurants, 5 minutes further on is the beach.. The house was clean and well equipped, the garden at the back, backed on to the woodlands and one afternoon we saw 2 adult deer, our children loved this as did we. The only negatives I have is the massive damage deposit (1500 Euro in cash) there is only one tiny toilet for a 3 bedroom house and the amount of spiders in the upstairs bedrooms

We've really appreciated the beautiful house, the great location and the well equiped kitchen. In our opinion, the deposit is unreasonabely high. We also came to terms with the only and tiny toilet and the less hot water for showering. Unfortunately we had e bad experience after leaving. We told the host that we will arrive late and have to leave early which suddenly became a problem at the end. After our departure, we were accusing of damaging furnishing and the curtain. At the end the host withdrawed an amount from our deposit. Although we loved our stay in Seignosse, we wont recommend the house as we feel unfairly treated. What a pity.
