Perfect little get away for us newlyweds. The cabin was so cozy. Short distance from trails and grand marais, so there is plenty to explore!

Smoke alarms went off due to fireplace flue..its expensive for the shape it's in. Been coming here 25 years but found something cheaper without all the fees including no pet fees. Will be sad to leave behind all the memories but may have to due to cost...

We stayed 5 nights, the fireplace was the highlight for us with an endless supply of firewood and starters. We loved the fireplace!
Communication was good with the owner via texting. The listing stated (at the time of our stay) they had conditioner, but they only had 3 in 1 body wash, shampoo and bubble bath. The owner brought us some conditioner and extra towels the next morning, which was appreciated.
Some maintenance issues with the well pump, it's getting air so the water spurts out periodically, which was annoying in the shower and the kitchen faucet leaks at the base.
We planned to make most of our meals in house, just wish we would have brought a couple of good knives and a skillet. Storage containers for left-overs, baggies, tin foil, small bowls, etc would be nice to have in the kitchen as well.
The box spring, mattress, sheets and one of the blankets look and feel quite old. Neither my husband and I slept good all week. We could feel each other's movements throughout the night as it jiggled the entire bed. It was firm and unsupportive, leaving us to feel sore in the morning and without good sleep. We're in our 40's and usually never have a problem with the beds when traveling. The pullout sofa didn't have sheets or blankets on it and we couldn't find them anywhere.
If the bed and bed linens get replaced we would definitely come here again. It was a quiet, cozy and relaxing place to get away.
