ALCATRAZ JAIL-HOSTEL

All was really good. Especially the balkony with the view on the city. The really short way into the city center was great. Just be aware of that the 4 bed room in the prison cell is not really separated. In fact it is just one big room for all 10 people 😉

The prison theme is cool but for me this hostel felt more of a home in Tbilisi. Its not too big of the hostel, but big enough to meet many travellers. The owner Mano is such an amazing person, probably one of the most hospitable hostel owner I've met. I originally planned to stay for a night but ended up extending for over 5 days. I highly recommend this hostel!

I've stayed here 4 times I believe. Up to 10 days at a time. This hostel is mostly popular with Chinese travelers but I've also had the privilege of sharing with a group of mature travelers from across the globe. I would also say this is one of the safer hostels for women as it is open plan with no place for creepy men to hide. Its also mostly populated by people who avoid parties (ive only encountered 1 party-goer in my total of 30 days there) Best value hostel in town!

There is this bar across the floor on the way to the bathroom, it became a running joke last time I stayed because everyone stubs their toe on it in the night : )

The idea of the jail etc

Hard to sleep because it’s an open space and everyone can hear everyone.. every noise goes through all beds. In theory there is a room of 4 beds but on spot that room isn’t a room.. just some irons like a jail. So I paid more for the room but same poor quality of sleep. May be you can have some staff sleeping with us to warn anyone making noise during the night.. some people here eating on the room at 2 am…
