I very much liked the silence, it was very relaxing (but this may mainly due because I visited during low tourism season). It was very confortable, there are also many small but important commodities like books, a tv, society games, plants and posters, info about places to visit. The tap water is good to drink. The place was also well heated.
Unfortunately, when using the sink in the bathroom stalls, there are some water leaks.

It is such a privilege to stay on the beautiful islands of Suomenlinna. For the history, architecture, and natural beauty (plus getting to take the ferry from market square) ... this is by far the nicest hostel I have ever stayed at. Beautiful old school building, very clean and well maintained, great communal spaces, although I will admit that a lot of the plus side is that the 8 person room had only 1 other person 2 of the nights and I was by myself one night ... I have no idea what this place is like during tourist season!
it is about as good as you can expect from a hostel.

Quaint, functional, warm and welcoming.
We were there at the same time as a school camp. There were lots of kids doing kid things, we don’t blame them, it was loud but they got quiet at 9 and stayed that way for the night so it was all good. Bit awkward running into strange loose kids making a cup of tea or in the washroom but feels like they were there first and were having a cracking time, so alls well.

Larger bathrooms and toilets would be nice. Otherwise it's great.
