Masseria Agrituristica Lama San Giorgio

Great location for day trips, in a vineyard.The pool area was clean & tidy, the pool bar was run incredibly well with great food & drinks selection in general. Our room (25) had its own corner garden for sunbathing in privacy . Roberto on reception was very welcoming & helpful .

Breakfast was lacking in options compared to another Masseria we stayed in the previous week. We had dinner one evening in what can only be described as an air conditioned greenhouse built onto the side of the main building with white plastic chairs & blinding, unromantic lighting. We pre-ordered our dinner at breakfast, which arrived before we were asked if we wanted any drinks. The quality of the food was acceptable, we didn’t eat there again. This Masseria is not one for a quiet respite & relaxation during the day if you’re a couple looking for this like we were. We have had children & grandchildren ourselves, so being around young children /babies by the pool wasn’t generally a problem, however a 15-20 sized group of twenty something couples took over the pool being extremely noisy at times. The first afternoon we had to leave the pool area because of their volume.

Room was definitely not soundproof. Could hear literally anything from both my neighbors (sneezing, snoring, walking, watching tv) upon checking the next morning with the reception. They did not say anything about it and would check but never came back to it. While we were at the property for 6 days. Breakfast was also bit disappointing to be honest. We are early birds but most often things were already not in stock anymore (like yoghurt) and muesli was a mix of all different and old flavors put together in one machine…

I was extremely disappointed and frankly shocked by this masseria. We paid €194 (!) for a suite for one night. In the photos, everything looked fine — a bit chaotic in style, but I thought that might add some charm. In reality, the room was tiny and opened onto a depressing inner courtyard with a broken exercise bike and a rusted fitness bench that looked like they had just been abandoned there. There was also a small private terrace that looked more like a prison yard than a place to relax. The toilet and boiler made loud, disturbing noises all night. The toilet seat was broken. I could hear my neighbor snoring through the walls, and in the morning, there was unbearable noise coming from the pool area, which is right next to the room. Speaking of the pool — it looked chaotic. The layout felt disorganized, and the lounge chairs were uncomfortable. It was honestly a nightmare. Do not spend your money here.
