Castle View Cottage

Loved every minute of my stay is this charming cottage. I did'nt see any staff as it was self-catering and only me there. I did speak to the owner on the phone, very nice, helpful lady. My view from the upper living room and top floor bedroom gave me a lovely view if the top part of the castle, which was few hundrd yards to walk to. The Cathedral was right in the centre of the city passing the Magna Carta pub fhrough the arch. There are nany mire places to visit which eere'nt open the time I was there, but a nice young lady working in the castle shop wrote diwn what dayss they are. I will definitly going back this Autumn .

Nothing, could do with motion sensor lights on the stairs as I have problems going up snd down them with no way if seeing where I'm going. A hand rail going up the stairs to the bedroom would be great as I had nothing to grab to prevent me falling. Staircases on very old cottages can be difficult to walk up and down with not much light. How they were built in the 16th century. Other to the stair issue the cottage was nice and cosy and a real pleasure to stay in.

Fantastic location close to the cathedral. Well appointed with everything you need over three floors. Lovely roof terrace with view to the castle. The chocolate cookies on arrival. Susan was a thoughtful and welcoming host.

It was close to Lincoln Castle & the cathedral, also to Steep Hill and the various independent shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants.

The location was exemplary. We liked that above all else and given its central position, it was surprisingly quiet and private. Loved being able to park close by. Facilities were excellent. Highly recommend and would definitely book again. Really good value for money too.

Possibly the only pitfall was the incredibly steep stairs which I had to ascend on all 4s meaning it was difficult to carry drinks safely up to the middle floor. However that was part of the building's charm. Had I known about it beforehand, I would still probably have booked it - it was a trade off for its location.
