Castle View Cottage

The cottage is brilliantly located, close to both Castle and Cathedral. Whilst this means a little street noise on Sat/Fri nights in the summer, we did not find it intrusive. The house is old but nicely done. All the equipment you would need together with tea, coffee, biscuits, toiletries etc. The host was swift and helpful with comms.

Stairs are fairly steep with modest treads. Fine for us, but older folk or small children may find harder to navigate safely. We loved the vibe of the house. Very relaxing.

2nd time staying here, was for my partners 60th. Fabulous little cottage in uphill Lincoln, right near the cathedral, castle and steep hill. The cottage itself is very quaint, unique and covered our needs for our stay. The bed is very comfy, the stairs are steep but we knew this before coming. Everything you need home from home. Communication with Susan the owner was great. The balcony is a bonus especially with it being so warm this last week, it's very comfortable and we love staying here.

Nothing to dislike

Excellent location and lovely hideaway right beside the castle and cathedral. Super shaded rooftop garden to enjoy all fresco summer evenings in. Light airy sitting room/diner with access to rooftop garden made staying in a pleasure.

The house suited us perfectly but the narrow stairs over three floors would not be to everyone's liking. With a kitchen downstairs everything has to be carried upstairs to eat. You do need to be agile to stay here happily.

Loved every minute of my stay is this charming cottage. I did'nt see any staff as it was self-catering and only me there. I did speak to the owner on the phone, very nice, helpful lady. My view from the upper living room and top floor bedroom gave me a lovely view if the top part of the castle, which was few hundrd yards to walk to. The Cathedral was right in the centre of the city passing the Magna Carta pub fhrough the arch. There are nany mire places to visit which eere'nt open the time I was there, but a nice young lady working in the castle shop wrote diwn what dayss they are. I will definitly going back this Autumn .

Nothing, could do with motion sensor lights on the stairs as I have problems going up snd down them with no way if seeing where I'm going. A hand rail going up the stairs to the bedroom would be great as I had nothing to grab to prevent me falling. Staircases on very old cottages can be difficult to walk up and down with not much light. How they were built in the 16th century. Other to the stair issue the cottage was nice and cosy and a real pleasure to stay in.
