Rental in Rome - Scala Suite

Posizione e stile dell’appartamento. Accoglienza ottima e consigli utili. Abbiamo chiesto di cambiare l asciugacapelli perché non funzionante e ci hanno accontentato subito. Letto comodo e ambiente silenzioso nonostante la posizione nel vero centro della movida romana.

L appartamento merita una piccola manutenzione generale: tutte le pareti bianche hanno bisogno di essere ripitturate perchè piene di segni e la sensazione è quella di poco pulito. La cucina è piuttosto vecchia e poco funzionale nella struttura, mancano diversi contenitori per zucchero e sale per esempio. Purtroppo in camera da letto se ci sono inquilini sopra di voi li sentirete camminare rumorosamente perché l isolamento è minimo in quella parte della casa.

The apartment is perfectly located in the charming Trastevere area, which we would highly recommend over staying in the city center. From here, you can easily reach the rest of Rome either on foot or by public transport. The apartment itself was clean, tidy, and as described on Booking.com. The interior design was nice (even though the room designs was a bit odd), the atmosphere comfortable, and overall we felt at ease during our stay.

Unfortunately, there were major issues with the shower temperature, which kept switching between hot and cold – most often cold. This made it very difficult to take a proper shower. We contacted the host, who initially asked us to check several things. When the problem continued, we were promised it would be fixed, but nothing was done. After that, the host stopped responding to our messages, which left us with the clear impression that this was a known issue. Taking a shower is incidental and the lack of response from our host made us enjoy a stay a bit less. It is simply not okay that we could not enjoy a shower after a long day of exploring the city in the summer heat. Additionally, the bed and pillows were extremely hard, which caused back and neck pain - we are two girls in our 20's. Finally, it should be noted that there is no sound insulation at all. Everything from the street can be heard, and since Italians tend to stay up late, this may be a challenge if you’re sensitive to noise. It wasn’t a big issue for us, but worth mentioning for others.

A bit expensive considering the 4th floor walk up.

The apartment was comfortable and in an amazing location!

The microwave had something wrong with it and made a strong burning smell when used and we couldn't find any directions for the oven and we're not able to get it to operate. The phone numbers for our contacts listed in the rental pamphlet we were given were wrong or they were ignoring us. Either way, we were never able to reach the property manager/owner once we had begun to occupy the apt. They claim they were never contacted.
