About this house rental

In a charming little village, ideally placed to discover all the wonders of Alsace, borders Switzerland and Germany, our house can accommodate up to 8 people.
It has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one in the mezzanine with its private lounge and small kitchen.
An extra bed is possible in the living room.
A garden furniture and barbecue allow you to enjoy the outdoors.

We share the positive reviews of many aspects of this property. It's very spacious (although the swing of some doors cause odd pinch points). We were only three, and would have used only the ground floor but for an issue (see later). The kitchen is well equipped, the induction stovetop was great to cook on. The location is properly noted, but Marie's L'épicerie in the village was closed for August vacation. (Which I imagine is an annual event.) That meant we needed to drive 6+ km for morning bread and shopping. As implied in a couple of photos, the outdoor area is almost entirely covered in paving stones. Oddly, there was no outdoor lighting. We asked and received some tea candle lamps, which were lovely but didn't produce enough light for reading, playing cards, etc. Having to duck under the vines to get into the house became tedious. The house instructions are in French. In a few instances (e.g., for the stovetop) more extensive and multilingual guides would be welcome. The "queen" beds are just 140cm wide -- narrower than many couples may be used to. (Perhaps this is a French nomenclature issue.) After two nights, I moved to a single bed on the second floor. The stairway is quite steep and the steps narrow (by German standards anyway); perhaps a challenge for the elderly and young.

Geräumiges Haus, optimal für die Großfamilie. Teenager, Kleinkinder und Oma, jeder war zufrieden. Toller geschlossener Hof mit Spielmöglichkeiten für die Kinder. Danke an den Gastgeber, wir kommen wieder.

Accueil facile et attentif à nos besoins. Maison propre et vaste, nous y avons séjourné à sept facilement avec ses deux salles de bains et WC. Chacun a trouvé son "coin" y compris la voiture dans la cour. Bonne situation, à mi-chemin entre Colmar et Fribourg deux magnifiques villes au riche patrimoine. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir pour un prochain séjour. L'épicerie du village est également très agréable, l'on peut y commander son pain et de délicieuses spécialités alsaciennes. Das Haus ist wie in der Beschreibung sauber, gepflegt und alle Geräte waren wie beschrieben funktionsfähig. Vom Vermieter bekommt man nichts mit außer eine Kiste Eier welche er vom eigenen Hof bringt. Sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sehr zu empfehlen.
