Hotel Triumph

The exterior and the interior of the hotel left me with a very nice, warm feeling 😊

The owners were extremely helpful and carried our heavy suitcases up and down the stairs for us. They lent us a brochure in English on Nova Zagora and the area around it, and gave us directions to various places. This lovely little hotel is well situated near to the town centre and the pedestrian only walkway, and it is about equally distanced between T-Market in one direction and Billa in the opposite direction, and both are excellent supermarkets. The kitchen was well equipped for self catering, and there was ample room to sit and watch TV in the lounge area, and there was a desk in the bedroom. There was also plenty of cupboard space. There are some very good restaurants nearby in the pedestrian area, and an interesting market area where we bought clothing etc at the little market shops and stalls.

The double bed could have been smaller thus leaving space to walk either side of it and maybe even installing bedside cabinets to hold ones belongings and books etc. The large bed was fitted tightly between two walls, so one had to crawl up it from the bottom to get into it at the top, and there was no place to put a book or a magazine or anything else. Parking is outside in the rather narrow street. My pet hate is Bulgarian showers that soak the entire bathroom floor due to them not being contained in a shower cubicle. The bathroom did have a shower curtain, but that does not stop the water spreading everywhere over the bathroom floor, and then the tiles get very slippery and one has to walk with extreme caution so one does not slip and fall. Nothing was provided to sweep the water towards the drain hole, and Pat had to use an old cloth we had with us to mop it up so we could walk safely on the tiles. The balcony was so small it could just hold a small table, but I doubt even a small chair would have fitted on it. The two dining room chairs had very little padding on the seats, so they soon became uncomfortable to sit on. These are all minor niggles, as we loved our short stay there.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I needed to find the centre for covid testing. The owners found the location for me and gave me accurate directions. I needed a spare key to be cut for the property I am renovating. A friend of the owner drove me in his own car to a place where I could get a copy key made. This place is in a great location for the town centre with restaurants etc. and is very good value for money.

The only thing I could fault and it seems a little churlish to do so was that the parking "provided" by the hotel is actually on-street parking but there was no problem with this - I could always park right outside the front of the hotel.

Loved it! This is probably one of the best hotels in the town!
