We were disappointed with our room and the catering so checked out early.

Location was quiet and safe. Garden facing rooms were good. The on site manager was friendly and helpful.

Although our ‘economy’ room was as described it was overshadowed by the driveway, dark, with poor privacy. The parking was difficult with insufficient spaces. Kitchen staff did not appear to be allergies trained or aware.

It’s in a great location and the room was comfortable with a nice big fridge and kitchenette. Comfortable bed and they had extra pillows in the cupboard

The very Rudd staff member. I went down in the morning to ask for a late check out at 12. The lady at reception said no problem at all. Then this rude staff member just appeared on our private veranda and said we had to leave at 11. I told him the lady at reception said we could leave at 12. He said no you must go and 11. He says someone was coming in that day. I think m2 hours is enough to clean the room. So I chased him away. No thought for out privacy and downright rude. The fan also didn’t work in the bedroom. And they said sorry it’s broken. Not acceptable. I told them to get someone to fix it. Also no soap or shampoo in the shower. It’s a pity as I do like the place.

Apart from the one issue mentioned, all good.

The stay was comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful.

The only complaint I have is that we had one of the back rooms facing the entrance gate of the property and at the top of the property is the garage/;aundry and the issue is that water come down the bank from the laundry, rushes down the retaining wall area, it has a strong soap smell that permeates the area around the bedroom, which is really unpleasant. The suggestion is why dont you pipe the water down to the drain instead of it running freely down the bank.

The stay was wonderful. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We requested twin beds and they had not been separated when we arrived but the staff quickly arranged to have the beds separated. Thank you

Great location overlooking Hout Bay, with attractive garden, pool and terrace area. Good security - felt safe and comfortable during our stay. Best was the warm and helpful welcome from manager Banda and his team, with very good breakfasts.

Welcomed back as friends

We've returned her several times as it's very safe, the staff are very fiendly and welcome us warmly. It's close to Hout Bay beach and also to fabulous restaurants in the wine area. The breakfast is substantial and the fruit salad, the best ever.

We couldn’t stay much , we realised upon checking in that , it wasn’t what we were looking for.

The Salt House is a great place to stay for an average Budget.

Friendly Helpful Staff, Banda & the team really went out of their way to make sure our stay was very enjoyable.The location is perfect and the Breakfast is spot on with Fresh Coffee served each morning.

Room a bit cold as it was Winter season but Banda bought over blankets and heaters which made us comfortable.

Warm stay

Mr Banda and his team are such bubbly employees who make you very welcome and comfortable. The was a municipality pipe burst which left the property without water for almost two days, we found a note and a 5l water to use for the night. The next day, he arranged for me to bath elsewhere.

Fact that there wasn’t enough water to bath at night and to use for the toilet. My son and I had to go to his school without bathing because there was no water. We had to sleep on dirty sheets which had sand the first night! However, when I reported it to Mr Banda the next day, they attended to it immediately.

The water pressure to the toilet was a bit of a problem and needed several flushes. Staff said that the plumber will attend to it. Inadequate lighting. outside the premises when one walks in or out at night or to one's vehicle. Need to see where we walk.

Horrible stay, I would not go back or recommend The Salt

The room was big enough, easy to accommodate all of us.

I shared on the dietary request that I don’t eat Pork there was no provision made, upon asking about it the ladies gave me and my friends attitude, not willing to assist. The hostess and rest of the staff were not friendly. The cleaner, opened and walked in our room without knocking or even trying to check if we are inside. Breakfast was horrible, cold and not enough options.

Well worth the stay.

The staff were amazing - so helpful and went far beyond their jobs to make us comfortable . Lovely pool and little issues we had were sorted immediately.

The location was a little too far away to walk to places so a car or taxis is the way- but as long as you know these things it’s great!

There stuff is extremely friendly. They always try to make ones stay pleasent

The parking space was limited and due to this I got severely injured....the stuff were not really informed we were coming. I had to park on top and the tar and pavement is not leveled there is no step warning of the uneveness of the area as a result I fell and hurt my ankle, arm, and back. On top there was no ice packs to assist with the swallowing of my ankle. At this moment am out of work and spending money on doctors and x-rays
