Lovely space for family of five

Staff were super friendly and helpful. We stayed in Taunton following our wedding, with our three kids. I asked to extend our stay with a late checkout, which was granted as a wedding gift. It was a great space for the five of us, with a cosy living area, and kitchen facilities. I personally found the bed to be very comfortable, and slept well. Unfortunately, our children broke a standing mirror in their bedroom, which we informed the staff of when we checked out. The lady behind the counter very graciously declined our offer to pay for a replacement, and showed kindness towards the children in a situation that most would not.

Basic but clean with friendly staff - good for the price

Chap behind the desk was very helpful. My phone charger stopped working and he tested it and found me a spare one and offered to let me keep it, which was kind, but I left it there as I have spares at home. But he couldn't have been kinder and more helpful. The room was basic but clean and the bed comfortable. I always have bit of a problem with quilt and no sheet or blanket as I tend to be hot at night, so prefer layers, but this is common even to expensive hotels now. There was tea and coffee. in the room and a small shower and separate toilet squeezed into a cupboard.

It was very basic, but for the price probably good. I am rather out of touch with hotel prices. Also a lot of stairs and a bit of a rabbit warren so probably not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. No phone in the room, so one has to go down to reception if one wants anything. But as I say, the chap behind the desk could not have been more helpful.

Good value and convenient accommodation which did the job I needed it to do

I loved being able to walk from the train station to this hotel in a few minutes. It's also very convenient (walkable) for the town centre as well. My room was clean and functional, and I appreciated the shared kitchen facilities which allowed me to self-cater - although there are plenty of food options (eat-in or takeaway) nearby. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Perfectly located for a visit to Taunton. A warm welcome. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Would stay again.

5-min walk from Taunton train station and easy access to the centre. Staff were wonderfully warming. The apartment had pretty much everything I could’ve asked for, for a weekend’s stay.

The aesthetics of the room could be better as there were a lot of exposed essentials like an ironing board, a fan, etc.

Great and affordable place for solo travel

Great value place to stay for a solo traveller in need of affordable last minute accommodation. The location is just up the road from the train station and a short walk into the town centre.

Basic, lovely staff

Front desk staff in the evening and morning were well informed and lovely. £20 charge for dog (other places more expensive to stay at charge £10). Very basic, some mould up in the wall of the shower, rest of the room clean.

Clean hotel, with great staff.

Staff were wonderful. Couldn't do enough to help. I had a couple of issues arise whilst I was there (personal - nothing to do with the hotel) and they were so helpful. Also, the hotel is clean and tidy which is a big deal for anyone that spends a lot of time in hotels. Location was also good for me.

I was on the ground floor and as a woman travelling alone I prefer to be upstairs as I like to open the window. However, this is not really a criticism as I didn't specifically ask for this, I feel confident from my previous visit that if I had, they would have tried to accommodate my wishes.

Bed was the most uncomfortable ive stayed in during all my trips in the last two years. Pillows were also most uncomfortable and rather thin. No face tissue available,heat ting not easily adjustedand soap dispenser was inadequate.

Really great stay, and really surprising for the cheap price!.

I really loved that there is a fridge freezer in the room!. And a communal kitchen. Its really handy. It’s something you rarely see in hotels. Really helpful reception staff. Very accommodating and even offered to help us with our luggage. Love the generous amount of towels in the room!. So quiet we got a great night sleep!. Thanks to all the lovely staff! 👍

Needed more bowls in the upstairs kitchen. Rubbish view from our windows , but to be fair we weren’t expecting much of a view in Taunton. It’s hardly las vagus is it?. So that didn’t bother us too much. Lol We spent most of the time watching the rugby world cup final on the telly. (Much better scenery).

Perfect location, extremely friendly helpful staff. Room was spotless and big. Internet was great. Use able kitchen a bonus when you don't fancy eating out.

Sadly both the cookers were broken in the kitchen but microwaves worked fine. Could do with more sockets in the room. Had to move the kettle around the room to plug it in

Room was so hot my baby was sweating, neither of us could sleep so after 3 hours at 2am we asked to change rooms. Traffic was loud and someone’s tv was loud throughout night.

Very nice hotel with fantastic staff

I arrived early and the staff at reception was super friendly and efficient in storing my luggage and getting me going in Taunton. That was a good indication of all staff during my stay: very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were small, but with ample places to put my stuff without getting cluttered. Everything was clean, all facilities were in working order. I could get used to having a refrigerator in my (hotel) room. There was some construction work going on, but I did not notice too much of it; I felt they really tried to keep any inconvenience to an absolute minimum,

Spacious room with TV and drinks making facilities. Comfortable bed. Clean room, beedding and bathrooom. A very basic spec room which suited my needs for a one night stay near the cricket ground.

I had a roadside room at the front which was a little noisy due to traffic and night time activity. This is a basic spec room so you have to accept its not luxury. Fire doors may need an inspection to ensure they are compliant

Heat and noise made it hard to sleep

Clean and well located near the station. Was very easy to find and to check in. The manager was very helpful and friendly.

The temperature had got up to 32 degrees the day I checked in. I arrived at around 10.30pm when the weather had cooled probably below 20 degrees. However my room was still very warm - probably over 30 degrees. There was no air conditioning but there was an electric fan. The window didn't open very wide so I couldn't let in much cool air. Also my window faced the street and it was quite noisy from a nearby pub and traffic. It was Saturday night. So if I left the window open, there was a lot of noise. If I closed it, it trapped in the heat. I tried both at different times of the night. In short, the room was a bit hot and noisy for sleeping. Manager said hotel was fully booked, so I couldn't have changed rooms anyway. Room would have been ideal if it had air conditioning.
