About this hotel

All single premium en-suites have a comfortable single bed, flat screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. They also include a wardrobe/closet, refrigerator . Ensuites consist of shower (one single room has a bath and shower facility), toilet, towels and complimentary toiletries. Hairdryers are available on request.
Recently upgraded with new beds and freshly decorated, the Royal Ashton Hotel is in the heart of Taunton, just a short five minute walk from the train station, Somerset County Cricket ground and the town centre.

The room was simple but very comfortable, and the bathroom had a bath, which is unusual for a small single room! I was made to feel very welcome. The room was on the ground floor with its windows right next to the busy street pavement, and as it was warm I had to open the windows. This made it rather noisy, but that couldn't be helped! Fortunately, it cooled down when darkness fell, so I didn't have to have the windows open all night.

Clean quite although bed was very uncomfortable springs digging in my chest I'm not slim but if you put your hand on mattress you will feel it so made sleep quite poor but staff lovely and place clean
