Melfort Village

We loved the location and the drive along the edge of the loch to get to it. Out of the way. We stayed in stables east and the accommodation itself was comfortable with a good kitchen. Two bedrooms on the lower floor with comfy beds. Great views from the lounge. Lovely walks for the dog, which included an enclosed field at the centre of the village. We also enjoyed a nice walk down to the Loch. The female on reception was excellent, very friendly and helpful. She advised as where to find a beautiful waterfall about an hours drive away. Very knowledgeable about things locally. The chap we found a little less helpful. We ate in the restaurant one evening and found the food pleasant. We would consider staying again if we were back that side of Scotland.

The information we received before hand said the restaurant was open from 3 for light bites. However when we popped in to get a quick something we were told the kitchen didn't open till dinner. Thankfully the lady on duty kindly offered to do us some chips. We also purchased a warm welcome pack. Unfortunately we didn't feel it was not worth the £35 we paid.A small bag of wood, kindling, fire laid, 2 miniature bottles of Whiskey and a little shortbread. The gym advertised was limited in its equipment.

location was wonderful, quiet and grounds were lovely!

absolutely nothing

Peace and tranquility of the place. Lovely walks all around. All the facilities you would have in your own home. Bedding and towels were excellent quality. Would highly recommended this place and would love to return for a longer stay.

Nothing it was perfect.
