Everything about Maison du Lac was perfect for us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Maison du Lac. Everything was perfect for us. The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped, and we loved feeding the Koi Carp from the veranda. Everything about Maison du Lac has been very carefully designed, including the: apartment layouts that ensure they keep cool without air conditioning (although this was available if wanted); stylish large fishpond (visits from a kingfisher were an added bonus!); lovely swimming pool that is long enough for a good swim; and the beautiful grounds. Our host, Peter, was very friendly and helpful. We travelled to Avignon by train from the NW of the UK and did not hire a car. We walked a lot from Hotel du Lac along peaceful roads to supermarkets etc. and caught the bus into Avignon several times. We also went on a minibus tour of Luberon villages which was an excellent way to see the area without a car. Overall, an excellent holiday in excellent accommodation. We would definitely stay again and strongly recommend Hotel du Lac to anyone looking for peaceful, relaxed accommodation in the Avignon area.

Peaceful, quiet setting with beautiful views of the pond and surrounding vegetation. The unit had separate kitchen area, sitting area and bedroom, along with a large private terrace overlooking the pond.

Beautiful!!

Loved Maison du Lac! It has such a serene setting, you feel calm with the water sound from the lake. We stayed at the ground floor 2 bedroom flat. Our terrace was very large and felt like part of the house. I was looking forward to waking up every morning and having my coffee in the terrace with the beautiful lake view. We cooked in the kitchen for 4/ 5 nights we stayed; every utensil, salt & pepper provided. No problems at all, and again what a pleasure to eat with that view! Very close to Avignon; comfortable 30/35 min walk. Gardens are impeccably maintained, very much loved and cared for. There is a lovely wooden house for kids to play and a pair of swings. Swimming pool is also very nice!! Really looking forward to going back again for another relaxing holiday. Thank you so much Peter!

Beautiful quiet serene property!

Peter the host and his wife were absolutely incredible. From the moment the booking was made to the day we left. The attentiveness and his knowledge about local attractions and restaurant was warmly welcomed. He even went as far as providing maps with recommendations about our surrounding area. We had an amazing stay at Maison du Lac and will definitely stay here again. Bonus - the pool was a welcome reprieve from the long hot days :-)

Magical stay in beautiful Provence

This is a beautiful and tranquil place to stay — a perfect base for exploring Avignon and the surrounding area (as long as you have a car). Peter is an experienced, detail-oriented host who takes excellent care of both the property and his guests. He’s also very friendly and happy to share thoughtful recommendations.

Great house and great location to explore Provence.

The house and the surroundings are beautifully designed. The location is great as a base to explore Provence; probably better than staying in Avignon, where parking might be an issue. The host Peter was very friendly and gave great recommendations regarding day-trips and restaurants. Feeding the gold fishes in the pond was a lot of fun.

Wish there were screen doors on the deck. I guess screen is not a popular thing in Europe.

We arrived tired and stressed and left replenished.

The layout and thoughtful design of the apartment that made it so comfortable to be in. The kindness of Peter and Iryna when we needed help. The provision of cleaning materials and condiments, saving a great deal of wastage for travellers with limited luggage space. The setting and the pool.

Our sat nav initially led us to the back of the property and we had to be "rescued". Lane very narrow in parts. Best to have your own transport for getting to and from the property and shops etc.

Very nice apartment with a terrace on the pond. It was very relaxing. The appartement was very well equipped and well furnished. A big plus is that it was equipped with toilet paper, paper towels, dish washing products, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. The pool was very nice. Its kids friendly and they are well equipped for families with babies. Peter and his family were very helpful and welcoming. Less than 10 min drive from Avignon centre.

Pure awesomeness

Simply everything. This is my very first 10/10 review and the place and its host earned it hands down. This place is superb - quiet, comfortable, spacious and with character. You can't find anything more laid back and relaxing. The host was super friendly; even if the house rules sound strict he didn't let us feel how much he cares about the condition of this property. Unless you're looking for that 6* place with a bellboy, valet parking and a 3* Michelin restaurant on the property, you can't be wrong choosing Maison du Lac. Walking distance to Avignon, easy and spacious parking on your doorstep makes it a great location for local trips. And there's much to see around. Kids loved feeding the Koi carps and living just on a pond full of fish was just awesome and not something you experience often. We'll be back :)

If I was picky (I am) I'd complain about the Internet connection. The speed and latency of the Wi-Fi link seemed below par, but I wasn't there for work, so it was just good enough to plan our day trip. It might be tricky to arrive at the gate using your favourite GPS navigation, however it's a problem with the navigation system(s) and not the place. Just follow the host's advice and you'll be fine.

Such a wonderful place to stay! Don’t hesitate to book!

An absolute oasis tucked away outside Avignon. We loved the peacefulness and design of Maison du Lac and having the pool to ourselves. Beautiful pond and gardens and my daughter loved feeding the carp. Peter, the host couldn’t be any more helpful.

As good as it gets!

We liked everything! Wonderful apartment (size, decor, utensils, etc), the pond coming up to the terrace, the swimming pool where they don't insist on speedos being worn, thanks to the most considerate of hosts. The host provided very useful information and maps for the area and even food for the many koi carps in the pond. Everywhere you look it is clear how much thought, effort and consideration was given in building this eco-friendly oasis. Waking up to the quaking of a brood of wild ducklings completed the idyllic atmosphere!

There may have been some little quibbles (ie fresh paint smell) but really nothing to detract from the fact that this was the most wonderful of places to come back to after taking day trips in the region.

Beautiful setting, excellent facilities. Very secure and safe, the children loved the fish! Peter, our host, did a wonderful job of welcoming us and being available for any questions during our stay. Very clean. Would recommend without hesitation for families and couples.

Location was great. It was about 10 mins from the walled city of Avignon, so we had the benefit of the quiet countryside and a swimming pool, but was an easy journey to the centre of Avignon by bus or taxi.

loved the koi lake that the terrace went out onto; fish food was available which provided for a lot of entertainment; convenient location for exploring the surrounding sights; well equipped kitchen, super clean!

Peter is a perfect host, the apartment and grounds are maintained very well. It is very clean, comfortable and you can start relaxing the moment you arrive. Ideal to explore the beautiful Provence. I can totally recommend staying in Maison du lac!
