Odevaere - Charming & luxurious apartment with terrace

We totally loved staying in this apartment! The location is excellent, close to everything we wanted to visit and also extremely quiet. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The bed is very comfortable, and there is a nice outdoor deck. We recommend this apartment highly!

The location was fantastic, so easy to access the city. The accommodation was splendid and allowed us to spread out and relax.

Need a Microwave oven

Exactly as pictured, very cute and rustic, super clean, patio was nice but rained the whole time, and the kitchen was well equipped. The check in was smooth in opening all the doors and market across the street was handy. Only a few hundred meters from downtown. Parking was underground near by. Highly recommend!

Super location: 10 min walk from the railway station and 10 min walk from the city center just straight at the same street. In front of the house you will find a minimarket open till 22:00 and 5 min away is a big supermarket (Carrefour) open 7/7 till 19:00 which is a good thing for Belgium. The design of the apartment is wonderfully old-fashioned, but all the equipment is pretty new (kitchen stuff, TV, hairdryer, washing machine etc.). In terms of decoration, there are lots of nice little details to post on your Instagram, all very stylish. The bedclothes and towels are new and clean. The heating is working well, the thermostat is really easy to use (don't know, what was the issue in other reviews). The wifi is pretty fast and working well all over the place, including the wonderful terrace, so you can sit there and use your laptop. We were not charged any additional fees (like cleaning or city tax) and I was not asked for any deposit.

The biggest issue was the disgusting smell from the bathroom, as the building and the pipes are old. The problem is: the entrance to the bathroom is from the bedroom, so you will feel the smell during your sleep in the evenings and mornings (there is a door, but closing it doesn't really help). The only time when the smell disappears is when the neighbors above use their bathroom, somehow helps to improve the situation with the pipes. The apartment is located on the 1st floor of a 2-storey old building (no lift). If the neighbors above are going to be loud (in our case there was a family with 2 little kids that were running and jumping above our heads), you are going to hear every single sound. Besides, the bedroom windows are street-oriented, so the traffic might wake you up (but in our case the city was half empty, not so many tourists). Another thing to mention is that the bed is not really a king-size: there are 2 mattresses, which are poorly attached to each other, so there might appear a hole in the middle of your sleep. And also there is no microwave to heat the food, which is a problem, if you stay for several days. All the rest is fine.

I really enjoyed the decor! It was so beautifully decorated which gave it a rustic vibe. They paid a lot of attention to detail!

Geen magnetron , maar je hebt keuze te over in Brugge qua restaurants.

Sehr schöne Lage und charmante Unterkunft die grudsätzlich angenehm vom Standard abweicht. Aber.....

Wir hatten für eine Woche gebucht, haben aber nach der dritten Nacht die Unterkunft fluchtartig verlassen. Eigentlich wollten wir schon nach der zweiten Nacht weg, hatten aber zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch keine Ersatzunterkunft gefunden. Bei mir waren es 54 Beulen am ganzen Körper von Insektenschichten, Bissen, oder sonst was. Bei meiner Frau machte das zählen keinen Sinn, so viele waren das. Jedenfalls wollten wir keine weitere Nacht in diesem Bett verbingen. Wir sind übrigens keine Allergiker, seit Jahrzehnten in wirklich ganz Europa und zu den unterschiedlichsten Jahreszeiten unterwegs, so etwas blieb uns bisher erspart. Die Vermieter wurden immer informiert, sind auch sehr nett und voller Anteilnahme. Aber mehr auch nicht. Also ein kompletter Reinfall, was als kurzer Urlaub zur Erholung gedacht war schlug ins Gegenteil um. Wir haben die restlichen Tage in einem sehr schönen Appartement in Gent verbracht. Erstattet wurde übrigens kein Cent der Wochenmiete. Das würde den erlittenen Schaden aber auch nicht ansatzweise gut machen können. Und "luxurious" ist es dort keinesfalls, dazu einige Beispiele: nur 2 Trinkgläser, 2 Sekt/Weingläser, nur zwei Kaffeetassen, der Geschirrspüler macht also keinen Sinn. Die Kaffemaschine ist beschädigt, aber sie kocht wenigstens noch Kaffee. Der Müll wird auf der Terrasse/Balkon zwischengelagert. Als Sonnenschutz auf der Terrasse/Balkon hätte ich etwas anderes erwartet. Extrem schwach beleuchtet, am ersten Tage haben wir erst einmal Glühbirnen gekauft um wenigstens in der Küche zu sehen was auf der Arbeitsplatte liegt. Aus dem extrem billigem Besteck fallen die Klingen aus den Griffen, kein wirkliches Wohnzimmer, ein Sofa und zwei Sessel stehen an verschiedenen Wänden im Eingangsbereich/Esszimmer, links und rechts von der Eingangstür. Ein Fernseher existiert nur gegenüber des Bettes.
