It’s needing upgraded. You don’t get a double bed, you get two singles pushed together and two single quilts.

Needing update

It was a good location.

The property was very tired in parts and needed upgrades. The shower didn’t work at all and the bathroom was dirty. It was hard to find our chalet in the pitch dark. The sign posts weren’t lit. The decking was very dangerous on the ice. The kitchen couldn’t accommodate us for dinner as they had no food in!

Excellent famlly accommodation

We booked this facility as an emergency fall back when the power was out in the Highlands and we were unable to stay at our booked accommodation. So we were very pleased to get such a good spot for our family of 6 at short notice. The 2 storey accommodation of 3 bedrooms was excellent with a well equipped kitchen and dining area. We used the excellent heated indoor swimming pool at the club house. Parking was available at the front door of the villa. The resort is well placed to explore the beautiful Spey Valley.

Topside 3 tree house style perfection

We stayed in topsider 3, it was utterly incredible. Spotless clean, so quirky with its treehouse like design, spacious and the wrap around balcony was perfect for gazing at the stars or listening to the river.

Storage is a wee bit tight, both bedrooms have double wardrobes, but the kitchen is light on cupboard space but it's not really an issue if you are just away a few day or do a wee reorganise of the kitchen cupboards to make more space.

A lovely family break, highly recommend Aviemore to all

Great location, peaceful and lots to do. Lovely spot to sit and watch the world go by.

Not a complaint, but the property is pretty “tired” and whilst I wouldn’t say was dirty, it just felt that it needed a deep clean beyond the usual wipe down between guests as there is a lot of dust in areas. Aside from that, the TV didn’t pick up a signal after the first day. We didn’t bother reporting as rarely tried to use it but could be frustrating for others.

Excellent location. Plenty of parking available. Free use of the pool facilities. We will be back.

Accommodation could be doing with some new carpets, bathrooms could be doing with a make-over, and the floorboards fixed to stop them from creaking. Based on this, the price that is charged is excessive.

Good place to stay

It was a trip with my family and parents, all of us loved the location and facilities. It is close to Cairngorm and an hour from Inverness so literally in between what we wanted to do (Cairngorms hike and partial NC500)

Very good and relaxing in a fantastic location

The location and general grounds and space provided. Quiet and very clean. The accommodation was nice and warm with the heating etc Nice easy walks to Aviemore centre from here. Based more or less on the golf course and the leisure centre is excellent

Very poor and very disappointing

Very little, it was old, the facilities were out of date. There were no instructions to operate the cooking facilities and when we rang reception at around 6 PM there was no answer. When we arrived and checked the bed we found it had not been changed from the previous occupant We demanded some compensation and were offered a bottle of wine. Knowing that we were from Australia some two weeks after we left they offered us a 4 night complimentary stay. We are in the process of writing to their management to complain as we have previously stayed on no less than 5 occasions at MacDonald Hotels and been very happy with their service and facilities. We are also in the process of writing to their management and Scottish Health Authorities relating to the cleanliness of the property

Great Location and facilities - 3 bed apartment is brilliant

The size and layout of the house was more than what I expected. The photos on Booking.com don't do justice to the actual size and layout of the property.

some minor points: 1. Bathrooms should have mixer taps rather than individual ones for hot and cold water 2. The lounge sofa-bed bedsheet was full of hair (probably animal hair) 3. There were only 2 match sticks provided for log fire 4. The reception staff asked for the apartment key to get a towel for swimming pool but we were only given one set of keys at the time of check-in

The property was not clean, stains and hand prints all over windows etc from previous visitors. Stains all over carpets, my wife thought she had been getting bitten by insects in her bed.

Comfortable but shabby

Clean and well stocked with tea towels, kitchen roll, toilet paper, towels. Nice to have the sunny dining room in the conservatory-style porch area. Comfy beds, chairs and sofas. Well insulated (it was warm when we went but chalet never got too hot). Easy to walk to town and get to activities.

The welcome info mentioned a dishwasher tablet but there is actually no dishwasher in the chalets. Pretty standard nowadays I would say. The chalets are very tired and in need of a refresh - broken windows and bedroom cupboards, chipped paint. The price charged is similar to Center Parcs in off season - but not to the same standard as Center Parcs. Pool was small and not easy for the kids to lark about in - but you have to pay to use the sister hotel bigger pool with more facilities!

Short trip with grandchildren, been staying at Dalfaber for over 25 years.

Large apartment, both bedrooms had en suite.

Poor water pressure, shower wasn’t good. Dining chairs need a deep clean. Was a pain having to go back to get cash for pool towel deposit. We already left a security deposit. Then having to change out towels and cart back to apartment (presume there was option to get deposit back each time) Needs to go back to previous system. Staff are pleasant but a times over stretched at reception.

Family camping

Each 2-bedrm chalets had enough room for each family so everyone had plenty of space. Enough dishes etc in kitchen Swimming pool & playground a hit with kids. Nice wooden surroundings like camping in the woods. Good shower in bathroom.

In June I was promised (2) chalets would be next to each other as special needs kids but didn't happen & very disappointing. Late check in 5pm Really early check out 10am. Guests & staff drove very fast on the roads in the resort & amongst chalets. No plug-ins in one bedrm. Furnishings very tired.

Excellent for a longer term stay

Large and comfortable accommodation, offering all we needed for a longer term stay and suitable for different weather scenarios. Loved good sized beds, plenty of closet space, reasonably equipped kitchen, sauna and views from the veranda. Quiet location yet very close to Aviemore. Friendly staff too!

A stamp of time is really showing, especially general resort facilities could use a revamp. A welcome package would be a plus too.

Do not waste your money

Location - short drive to town centre and amenities.

Spey 17. Very very dated, had a smell like old cigarette smoke and dampness, beds very uncomfortable. No ventilation, we tried to open the bedroom window and it nearly fell out of the frame. Carpets stained. Glad it was summer as we would have been afraid to turn on the electric radiators. Changing rooms at the swimming pool also need a deep clean. The swimming pool had green algae on the tiles and black bits floating around. Staff at reception are lackluster to put it politely. Have to pay a deposit to use towels at the pool due to "600 having been stolen", if you pay this by card then it takes 30 days to go back in your account.

3 bed lodge comfortable for large family. Sauna and balcony is a nice touch

Some of the things clearly need an upgrade like locks. First time we tried to enter the lodge back and door lock was completely gone. Then one of the bathroom locks fell off when a child was inside which sent her on a panic. Some of the staff were really rude when dealing with this issues that are out of our control. How we were treated by the lady managing the restaurant after we were 10mins late to our table because of not being able to access our lodge to get ready on time, really ruined our time there. She spoke to us so rudely even when we explained what happened and made us wait for an hour for food with 3 young tired hungry kids, one of them being 1 and a half.

The first property was not clean, and smelled very strongly of damp. There was evidence in the utility area of small rodent (mice) infestation. It took some effort to effect a change of location (lodge) but was made due to the sterling work of a young receptionist,

Did the job but needs some more thought.

The location worked for us as we were visiting the landmark park. We were not spending a huge amount of time in the accommodation. The property was generally clean and there was plenty of space for us all. It was quiet at night which was good for the kids. The pool was warm.

The beds were not comfortable at all, very soft mattresses and the pillows were extremely hard. The welcome pack consists of oven gloves (really?) and dishwasher tablets so you need to purchase your own salt/pepper/sugar/tea/coffee which felt poor considering the price of the property. The pool adult only hours did not make sense at all. Children generally wake up early and we’re not allowed in the pool 8-9am (I think) or 6-7pm which is key after “dinner but before bed time” slot. This could do to be revised to make it a little more helpful to families.
