GREAT PLACE AND BEAUTIFUL VIEWS

Honestly anyone looking for a real easy holiday in the peace and quiet of the lake district and beautiful views just come here, no traffic, no screaming kids, away from the busy towns this place is perfect with great links for beautiful walks from the doorstep.

Parking was a little steep but not enough to put me off the accommodation and it comes with the location of the property.

Although there was a two seater sofa in room it was not comfy to sit on and tiny tv ….. unfortunately weather was not too good so could of done with a bit more comfort in room …. But all in all we would go back but ask for room above the dining room .

Wish we stayed for longer

The property is extremely clean, family vibes, the views are picturesque and the rooms themselves are relaxing and so beautifully decorated. The breakfast was personal your taste and needs. Very knowledgeable and helpful in activities or walks to take part in. There’s loads of walks and towns to visit and see, the food are from local farms and butchers. The air is so clean, was so good leaving London to here. There was a problem where we had caused some damage to the property and I can’t even begin to talk about how it was handled and sorted, I really can’t thank them enough. Perfect just perfect.

Beautiful scenery

Loved the postcard window view and the cleanliness of our room,also the hosts were so friendly and knowledgeable, nothing was to much to ask for.. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and the location is perfect for walks to the surrounding areas and lake coniston..If you are after a relaxing break this place is perfect.

Fabulous few days in a stunning location with amazing hosts

Stunning location, beautiful house, quality breakfast and our friendly hosts, Dave and Carey, went above and beyond to make us feel at home away from home. The room was so comfortable and well presented and the view was amazing, our hosts truly own a little piece of paradise. Dave was always happy to share his local knowledge of the area to help us get the most from our trip and even rescued us when we got a bit lost by coming to pick us up. Thank you for an amazing few days, we will definitely be back in the future.

Fabulous B&B set in a beautiful, quiet location.

Fabulous B&B set in a beautiful, quiet location a few miles from Ambleside. The only noise you could hear were the sheep in the field opposite! We had booked the suite, so even though there was a lot of rain during our stay, we had comfy chairs and a picture window to enjoy the view. The hosts David and Carey were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We would certainly recommend High Grassings.

Lovely country house

We had a lovely stay in the perfect location for the Lakes. There were some amazing walks close by but also it was so convenient for Ambleside with all it's facilities. Our hosts were so friendly and very helpful if we needed info about walks, where to eat etc. Our room was spotless and breakfast delicious. Hopefully we will see the resident peacocks next time 😊

Beautiful house in a peaceful location yet only a few miles outside Ambleside.

Dave and Carey are great hosts. We were treated more like family rather than paying guests. They are very friendly and always happy to chat. The room was very clean and the breakfast was great. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The location was wonderful. It was peaceful and scenic. Access was down a typical country lane but it was very easy to find. We are looking forward to our next visit.

We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary at high grassings and we’re so glad we chose this location. The hosts were super welcoming, making our stay even more special. The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had and the views from our room was superb. Thanks again, we’ll be back!!

Perfect accommodation in the middle of meadows, yet still close to top attractions in the Lakes

All went well, David was a fantastic host, always providing lots of good recommendations. The house is great too, with amazing views and short distance to Ambleside and other tourist places. Full English breakfasts were tasty and could be adjusted according to our needs.

The bathroom/toilet was not separated by doors from the rest of the room which might be uncomfortable for some people :) Otherwise all 100%!
