Unite Students - Sugarhouse Close - Royal Mile

We liked the location, the student/staff, the room had an ensuite & kitchen, close to supermarket, laundry on site.

The double bed was up against one wall & there was only 6 inch gap to the wall at the end of thr bed.

Perfect location.

Location and staff. Very comfy bed.

Rooms were cramped and not well equipped

It was a very seamless check in- staff were friendly and helpful.

My wife and I weren't expecting the room and bathroom to be so run down- it was obvious they'd done their best to spruce up what is ultimately very well used student accommodation however there were obvious "hard to clean places" with body hair, lime scale and the bottom of the shower was worn and gaping. The bed was horrendously uncomfortable, and a VERY small double. Clearly they are making use of the students being away for the summer holidays, renting out the dorm space during Fringe to maximise the earning potential and you can't blame them. It has however put a sour taste in my mouth, paying over £700 for a three night stay in questionably worse accommodation than a hostel dorm bed.
