The Valley House

It was quaint, like staying in a bed and breakfast cottage in a village but this is on an island.

They run out of hot water during my stay. I was in the middle of showering when there was no water. There was no mention that there was a restaurant in the hotel. We made food purchases at the Supervalu just after the bridge to cook for our dinner and only realised there was a restaurant and the common use kitchen was too small to accommodate my party of seven hungry people.

Lovely old building. High ceilings and very warm and cozy.

No en-suite but had our own shower/toilet down corridor. Not ideal during night trips to toilet with key code.

Continental Breakfast selection was not great, my wife looks forward to a selection of prepared fresh fruit - orange, kiwi, grapes, pineapple, banana as part of the fruit selection everything else was OK

i was happy with the continental breakfast.

Large dorm room Good kitchen

No facility for storing my bike. It poured with rain and though I asked for something waterproof to cover it nothing was done. The next morning I had to repack my bike out in the rain.
