Warm studio with lake view
Nice studio, perfect size for two people and well-equipped for a short stay. Absolutely amazing view and a great balcony to enjoy it from — definitely the highlight of the stay! The apartment was warm and comfortable, which made it very pleasant to stay in. Good location, not far from the old town. There are stairs to get down, but manageable for anyone who enjoys walking. Appreciated that late check-in was possible around 21:00, even though Booking listed check-in between 15:00 and 18:00. Good lighting inside the apartment.
The check-out checklist felt excessive. I understand the intention — to remind guests not to leave food in the fridge or leave the stove on — but that should be common sense. It even mentions possible extra fees if something on the checklist isn’t done. Removing the linens and taking the trash out to an outside container should be handled by the staff if the place operates like a hotel. What is the cleaning service for then? Towels were limited: only 2 large, 2 small face towels, and 1 floor towel. No dedicated hand towel for the bathroom or an extra one for hair, for example. For couples, having two separate duvets instead of one big one was not ideal. All in all, the long checklist took away from the relaxed holiday feeling, feels like unnecessary burocracy and doing someone else's work.

Good location overlooking the lungolago at Ascona, in between the park at Monte Verità and the town.
There are a lot of steps to get up to the property from the centre but then it is the side of a mountain.
