Houghton Lake is truly rejuvenating. We met in the area and have "Honeymooned" there many times over the years. Being drawn to the Lake most of all for it's tranquility and beauty. We want to share our home with those who appreciate serenity and nature's beauty, family time and outdoor activities. We can assure all guests that if you're not completely satisfied, we are not satisfied. We will do everything possible to ensure your complete satisfaction. Our home which we dearly love and visit often, is managed by us personally and we have a great local housekeeper and caretaker. If for any reason you are not satisfied, please let us know and we can assure you the management team will bend over backwards 24/7 to make sure your issues no matter how big or small are taken care of for you.

Everything about the property matched the description. It was great to have a large enough space for 9, and having an accessible master bedroom on the main floor was perfect for the grandparents.

The property was perfectly suited for our three-generation family stay. Being right on the water was nice and having a yard to enjoy was a valuable benefit. The house was outfitted nicely and the kitchen area made meal preparation effortless. The family great room was very spacious. Dining area could use more capacity, but weather allowed us to utilize outside dining option. Beds and bedding were comfortable, especially the master. Parking was plentiful but tricky depending on who needed to get out, when. All in all, it was an excellent stay. Would definitely return.

Easy to work with the owners who tried to accommodate whatever was needed. The house has a quiet location on the lake with a great view. Plenty of room inside to spread out. Perhaps the most well stocked house we have ever stayed in. The entire area is very laid back and makes for a very enjoyable stay.

From booking to check out, this was a top notch experience! We were looking for a place for our family of 13 with ages ranging from 2 years old to adults for a holiday celebration. Matt & Kathy's home checked all the right boxes and the house is more stunning in person than in the pictures. The view of the snow covered lake was gorgeous! All the rooms were spacious and there was plenty of bathrooms to share amongst a group our size.Not only was the home clean and beautifully decorated, the kitchen was stocked with just about any pot, pan or cooking tool you would need! There was plenty of counter space and room for multiple adults and kids to be in the kitchen at the same time to prepare meals without being in each other's way. The layout of the house allows for you to all be in the same space but sill leaves room for you to break off into smaller groups for quieter conversation. The owners went above and beyond by providing extras of whatever you may need from trash bags to paper towels and small selection of toiletries you may have left at home. Communication with Matt & Kathy was seamless and the directions to open and close the house were straightforward and easy to follow. I never had to wait for a response from them and they seemed to be available morning, noon or night! After we returned home, I realized, I left an item at the house and they happily got it back to me no questions asked. We enjoyed our time so much that we booked on the spot for the 2021 holidays! These owners truly raise the standard of hospitality and my family is so grateful that they shared their beautiful home with us!
