About this house rental
Whether vacationing with family or friends, this 3 bedroom lakehouse & detached bunkhouse is just what you are looking for. With 99 feet of lakefrontage and plenty of parking, it is a perfect retreat for anyone seeking relaxation and adventure. The location on Higgins Lake is referred to as "The Gold Coast" because you can see both the sunrise and the sunset from our dock. The main house has 3 bedrooms, each with new comfortable mattresses to provide you with a great nights sleep. The master bedroom features a King size bed and an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen mattress, while the back bedroom has a King size bed. This back bedroom also has a closet that contains a washer and dryer. The living area has a sofa sleeper that will sleep an additional 2 guests.
In addition to the main house, we have a charming bunkhouse with full bathroom, perfect for extra guests or providing a fun place for the kids. It has a custom made bunkbed featuring a full over a queen, sleeping a total of 4, as well as a sofa sleeper able to accommodate an additional 2 guests. There is also a microwave and refrigerator provided. PLEASE NOTE: FROM NOVEMBER 1 THRU APRIL 15 THE BUNKHOUSE DOES NOT HAVE RUNNING WATER. It is heated for guests to sleep there but they must use the bathrooms in the main house.
The living area of the house is designed for both relaxation and entertainment. It features large windows that flood the space with natural light and offer views of the lake. The fully equipped kitchen, complete with modern appliances and ample counter space is perfect for preparing meals. The adjacent dining area offers a large table and chairs, allowing you to enjoy meals together.
For outdoor fun, we have a private dock ideal for fishing, boating or just soaking up the sun. Please note that the lake does freeze so the dock is seasonal. There are 2 kayaks for you to use and explore the lake, as well as 2 jet ski hoists available if you choose to bring your own jet skis. There is also a spacious deck with lounge chairs and a pergola to provide shade. Under the pergola there is an area for outdoor dining. In addition, there is a BBQ grill, perfect for evening cookouts, and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows under the stars.

This place was perfect; everything was as expected and pictured. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook. The beds were very comfortable. It was nice to have the kayaks available. Our grown sons, who spent many years on Higgins Lake growing up, were all smiles as if they were teenagers again. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful home complete with everything you need (and all the things you forgot to bring!) These owners thought of every convenience one might need. Very nicely decorated, wonderful beachfront lot. We will be back for sure

House was outstanding. Nicely decorated and well stocked with great amenities. Big kitchen table/kitchen area was ideal for family meals. Outdoor area had outstanding view of lake, nice outdoor furniture and great fire pit. Great space for parking. Neighbors were very friendly. Owners were very responsive and helpful.

Sandy Bottoms was the perfect house to make memories at. The location of Sandy Bottoms is perfect to take a day trip out in multiple directions- we picked Mackinaw Island one day. With three children under 10, there was never a board face in sight- corn hole, the steps that led into the lake and the provided board games were the true winners during our stay. The view of the lake was truly breathtaking, I consider myself far from a morning person but I purposely found myself waking up before everyone else to enjoy a peaceful sit on the spacious deck and enjoy the views every morning. As a short term rental we very much enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen and found it very useful. The main house alone was perfect for my own family and bunkhouse was great for the additional guests we brought along. It’s not a big detail but when you notice it, it matters- the towels and bedding smelling like as if you laundered it versus the typical commercial (hotel) smell I feel like contributed to the home feeling. So many other great things to say but to sum it up - it truly felt like a home away from home. We will treasure Sandy Bottom forever and all the wonderful memories we made. We hope to see ‘you’ someday again in the future!
