About this house rental
Welcome to our year-round waterfront home in Houghton Lake, Michigan! Enjoy summer with beach swims, pontoon rides, kayaking, paddle boarding on the Cut River, and campfire s'mores. Winter offers sledding, snowmobiling on nearby trails, and cross-country skiing. Perfect for family vacations, this home captures the best of Pure Michigan all year long! Enjoy all-season fun with lake and boat access through Cut River at our Houghton Lake home! Swim and fish in the summer on the sandy, shallow bottom of Houghton Lake, or embark on thrilling snowmobile adventures in winter. Our like-new pontoon, launched in 2021, is perfect for family cruises, swimming at sandbars, and dining at lakeside bars and restaurants. After a day on the water, play yard games, BBQ, and enjoy s’mores by the campfire. Just minutes from town and top ice cream parlors, you'll love our location.
- After booking guests are required to sign rental agreements & all pets require Managment Approval & a pet fee if approved by management)
Guests have full access to everything in and around the house, except for the locked furnace room where we store our supplies and personal belongings. Everything else is available for your use and enjoyment.
I am available 24/7 to answer any questions or help with any issues although I do not live nearby so i can only help over the phone unless it is an emergency then we will get someone out to help fix the issues if anything arises.
With our area a little bit out of town but still on the water it offers everything you can think of when you think of Houghton Lake and close to the public access if you have your own boat or jet ski to bring.
There is no public transportation but we have plenty of parking with a large circle/pull thru driveway as well as a 3 car wide straight driveway.
Before booking, please note:
- Signed rental agreements are required after booking.
- All pets require management approval and a pet fee if approved.
- Our home is perfect for families, couples, and small groups looking for a relaxing getaway.
- We provide bed linens, towels, and basic toiletries, and a fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils, silverware, cups/bowls/plates etc, as well as a coffee and coffee supplies.
- The property has Wi-Fi, square 4’x4’ fire pit on the patio, and a BBQ grill.
- Please respect our house rules and treat our home as you would your own.

Guests must strip all linens from beds and leave in a pile at the foot of each bed.
Guests must remove shoes inside.
Dinning room table must have coasters for anything hot so it does not leave rings or marks on the custom made wood table.
Guests must be respectful of neighbors with quiet time after midnight.
Guests under the age of 25, unaccompanied by a parent or legal guardian will not be permitted to register and will lose all funds paid to Agent. Any reservations made under false pretenses will result in loss of advance payments and possible removal of guest from rental unit.
All pet requests must be pre-approved by management and have written approval (per rental agreement) and subject to a pet fee. If guests are found to have brought pets without prior approval they're subject to pay an additional $400 cleaning fee.

What a wonderful vacation we had! The kids and adults had the best time. So many activities here to do, the Oggs really thought of everything. The boat was a bonus and you can fish right off the dock as we caught 3 pike.

Check in went very well. We were able to get in 30 minutes early. Everything about the house was just as described. We enjoyed fishing off the dock in the canal. We used the pontoon every day of our stay. Our family made a lot of fun memories.

We had a family vacation and had a great time. Lots of fun activities at the house and the boat was a hit. The first time going through the canal was difficult but then we knew where all the logs were located so it was much easier after. I would recommend this house.
