I've stayed in the female dormitory and it was very peaceful, with both ac and fan, big window and large comfy bunk. The common area is relaxing and at the same time you can meet other travelers. There is free water and coffee in the morning. In general they keep toilet and showers quite clean. The location is good because you are in the centre of the city but in a calm local area. 3Howw Hostel is a good choice for enjoying Bangkok!
Sometimes the sharing bathroom was dirty.
The guys at the reception are kind, but I haven't received so much help about practical aspects of travelling when I asked (about train and bus for example).
