We had a wonderful stay in Cairnmhor House! The house is spacious and comfortable, and the location is excellent -in a quiet area, but only a quick walk from downtown.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We figured out the stove & dishwasher but the videos were outdated on these appliances. The kitchen could have been a little better stocked but we managed nicely. Loved the town of Portree & enjoyed walking to & fro. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.

We loved the house. It was a great base for sour 3 days exploring the Isle of Skye. It was clean, had a great view, and was just as advertised. We made the short walk into town for breakfast and dinner every day. Thank you!

Beautiful location with ample space for eight. Very clean, great beds and seems well presented. However, some maintenance issues really need addressed in order to make this an excellent property.

The location is great, 4 to 5 minute walk into portree proper. This is nice because parking portree can be challenging. Parking on site is nice in the driveway and spacious for large vehicles. The communication with the manager/host was not as great as expected. I had to call one morning as the dryer in the unit was not appearing to dry any of our clothes, including my 10 month olds clothing brought on the trip, the manager seemed irritated. Maintenance man came out and put half of bar clothes on the counter and ensured it was working correctly, but none of our clothes were able to dry for the next day and a half. The manager showed up at the property while my mom was watching our son and appeared verbally short and disrespectful towards my mother. The baby cot was not there when we arrived and I made sure to email beforehand to ensure it was there, was dropped off within 20 minutes.

My only complaint is about the poor communication regarding the check-in process. I had not heard anything from them so three days before our arrival I messaged the host: received no response. So the next day I messaged the host again: no response. Then I started to worry about whether we had a reservation. I contacted VRBO who contacted someone who told me their person who deals with reservations was out but would return the next day. The next day I heard nothing. I messaged the host again: no response. Finally on the morning we were to check in I received a message that all was well. This caused unnecessary stress. Never did hear from the host. Once we were there and settled in all was fine.

Comfortable lounge, well equipped facility, and perfect location! Five minute walk to downtown square & harbor. Plus was a washer & dryer as we were on a two week holiday. Finding the place was a little tricky. For future guests, it’s located across from the Portree High School. Would definitely stay here again!!

We were a party of 6 and the house was just right for us. The three bathrooms were nice to have as well. It was a challenge finding the house but once we used the GPS location they provided it got us there. The house was a short walk to town for shopping or dinner. The location was a good base for touring the isle of Skye.

Easy access all over the island. Lovely gardens and ample parking for four cars Downside name of property not clearly visible so toom a while to find. My wife and I stayed at the home for three nights and it was truly memorable. The furnishings were excellent, including the bedding, bathroom supplies, kitchen appliances, and plates/utensils. It was clean, warm, and welcoming. The location can’t be beat. The home is an easy half mile walk from the Portree city center, including shops, bars, and restaurants. Also, the location in Portree is excellent for seeing the many Isle of Skye highlights The communication with Ben and Cat was spot-on perfect. Cat stopped by shortly after we arrived and provided a description of the home and its amenities, as well as the general area. It was raining sideways the day we arrived and Cat proactively booked a taxi for us for dinner. Nice! Best of all, I messaged Ben and Cat a few days before we arrived regarding their suggestions for a driver/guide for a day tour around Isle of Skye. Cat responded that a nephew of hers (Ollie) could be available. We laid out our desired stops, including runs and hikes. Cat added a few local stops to the agenda. On the day we did this trip, Ollie showed up exactly on time and we had a perfect day with him. We saw everything we wanted and Ollie added some local knowledge and flair. It was perfect and the highlight of our time in Portree. Thank you Cat and Ollie! We highly recommend this home and the management team. It is a perfect home base for seeing all that Skye has to offer!

The location of this property couldn’t be better. Quick walk right into the centre of Portree and easy access to everything Skye has to offer. The rooms are spacious but the real selling point is the kitchen and dining room. If you love board games and family meals this is definitely the place to be. Really need to think about space though as there wasn’t a lot of cupboard space in the kitchen to put food etc. But dishwasher and laundry facilities were great and tablets provided for both.

We really enjoyed our stay and the communication from the rental company. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and relax, and we also enjoyed the giant kitchen table for socializing. The kitchen had everything we needed. They do need to update their info on how to use appliances and heat. There seem to have been renovations since the original videos were made so it took us a while to figure some things out. It really is a short walk into town, so we really loved the location. The sun even came out just long enough for us to enjoy a brief happy hour at the picnic table!

This opened up for two nights about 1 week before we left for Scotland, and I jumped on it so we'd have two nights in one spot. SO glad I did! This place is beautiful, in a wonderful location, and made our stay on the Isle of Skye even more special. We stayed in Scotland for 10 days, and this was EASILY one of our top stays! We had never used an induction cooktop before, but asked the staff who got back to us immediately. It was larger than we needed, but wouldn't have changed a thing!

Close to Portree town centre (5 mins, walk) and supermarket (20 mins walk) Not 5 stars as it lacked information on how guests were to use the property. On the pricey side for a property of this size and facilities.

The property whilst being cosy with nice showers was poorly equipped for a group of 6. Modern bathroom and en-suite however rest of the property needs upgrading. The property is in a good location and within easy walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and attractions in Portree.

I would absolutely rent this house again. It was spacious and clean with a beautiful view of the harbour and within an easy walk of town. The kitchen was well appointed (just need a large fry pan for the induction stove) and all 3 bathrooms were modern and clean. I would love to visit this house again one day.

What a beautiful house! It is located on a quiet side street and there is parking for several cars on the property. The city center is easily accessible on foot. The house is comfortably furnished, pleasantly warm and very clean. The kitchen is huge, but still cozy and very well equipped. Six people can comfortably sit in the living room. We felt very comfortable there.

Just a 10 minute walk into Portree meant this was a fantastic location and a half our drive to most attractions on the Isle of Skye.
