The property is beautiful and filled with art. The Onsen baths are great.
The Japanese meals served in the in the main dining room were pretty bad. The food was beautiful to look at but they lacked flavor , or sometimes just tasted bad. The Hida beef was tasty, but only a tiny amount was served. The food was very disappointing.

Onsens. Hot spring water was good quality, high quality, especially the public bath on 1st floor, with outdoor onsen.
Big room, though old, was well maintained.
Some staff attitude. But could be too crowded as we were there on a sat and hotel was full. Tour groups and many tourists.

The hot spring is good.
The room is old, the door is hard to open and noisy.
The faucet is old style with hot and cold water separated, so it’s hard to use and get good temperature.
Besides, the water pressure is too low to have a comfortable bath
