First Floor - Boutique Hotel

So the good things about this place, when booking I left a message to say that it was my wife's birthday and they were able to offer a range of gifts for her in the room on arrival which was nice, on arrival on a Thursday, the lady on reception was very welcoming and talked us through anything we might need to know, including when reception wasn't open. The room was vary clean and spacious and the bed comfortable, the bathroom and in particular the shower was large and had everything you need while travelling with the added bonus of free wifi. The location was superb, a few minutes walk from the colosseum and all the ruins which are around, we looked out of our window on a morning to catch a glimpse of this, it was a bit further into the city but was still ideally placed for many bars and restaurants and then close to the metro to get to other parts such as the Vatican.

The bad parts. On the Friday afternoon when we arrived back around 3.30 after a busy day exploring, the wifi was not working, we were relying on this to call home to speak to the kids and download the guides you need for the attractions, nobody was on reception despite it being open till 5:00. We spoke to the bar downstairs, which is what we were told to do if reception was closed and they said they would speak to someone, this wasn't working that day so had to pay for mobile data. The next day the wifi still wasn't working and spoke to the bar downstairs again, when we got back that night it was working again. Now for the main bad part.... it was above a bar and a very busy and noisy bar on a weekend, we wore ear plugs and at one point the noise and base coming through the floor felt like it was lifting you off the bed, despite the room and bed being comfy we felt like we didn't get the restful sleep we needed after busy days exploring the city. I should have thought about this when I booked, as I saw the bar below, but I was swayed by the location. If this is not an issue and you will be exploring more of the nightlife then these bad parts may not be too much of an issue, but we were here purely for the daytime sights.

Central to Rome, great spot felt safe and comfortable

Air conditioning was kind of tricky to work but it’s okay, host was great at showing us how to operate

The room was lovely, really good size and the bed was extremely comfy! The staff who helped us as well were fab. Location was also great with some amazing restaurants nearby

The bar under the property was REALLY noisy. It kept us up every single night, the sound goes on from 10/11pm-3am. The walls are extremely thin so you can hear absolutely everythinf
