it would have been fine if it wasn't for not being able to sleep due to booming music until 1.15am

staff, room, facilities all fine

very loud xmas party beneath our heads until 1.15am, shaking the wardrobes in the room, kept us awake after a very long day

Great hotel, great staff.

Inside is lovely and modern. Rooms are clean, comfortable and updated. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great!

The outside isn't the prettiest architecturaly, some planting might soften it.

The facilities in the hotel were good and the price to stay here was competitive. Staff were polite and helpful and the food was great. The WIFI worked really well so i could work and watch something on my Netflix account without difficulties.

I thought the hotel was really great and the staff were particularly friendly and helpful. The hotel was really clean and I have high expectations.

The carpets in our rooms had seen better days. They had grubby marks on them.

Wedding weekend

Staff were very helpful and moved a room so that the whole family could be together. We had booked 4 triple rooms. Close to our wedding venue.

The door key card stopped working the next morning whilst moving luggage to car. Had to go to the desk 3times. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Definitely use holiday inns again

The location was perfect for what I wanted, my daughter was in a weightlifting competition and the place was 5 minutes from the hotel. The staff were amazing, especially the woman on the front desk who was there when I arrived aswell as me leaving, she was kind and was so helpful asking if I wanted a phone call to make sure I was up :) I didn’t use it but I appreciated her help. Wonderful hotel, will definitely use holiday inns in the future, thank you. Room was amazingly clean and everything I needed, thank you so much for your hard work :) :)

Whilst this was a buffet style breakfast, the staff made a particular effort in showing us around the selection on offer. Chef came to our table and asked if everything was OK. The receptionist on check in was very professional and friendly.

Signage to direct to the car park at the back would be useful but then a member of staff took the trouble to accompany me to the door. Great !

sheets had solid mark. light switches by the was not clean. the TV was not clean. there were spiders died and alive, spider webs on the windowsill. the carpet in the room needs cleaning. these had stain marks

Great location. The hotel isn’t too large, it has a very safe and comfortable feel to it. The staff are truly exceptional!! So helpful and kind and friendly, they are truly an asset to the company. We will always stay here.

The only thing we don’t like is the coffee!! 😂 it seems very poor quality and bitter. But a small thing taken in regard to how wonderful everything else is about the hotel.

Nice but could be improved

Nice location, decent bed and room size. Bathroom clean and updated

The air con unit making noise all night. Didn’t sleep well at all from the constant noise. The curtain allowed light through in the morning as there is a part of the window that wasn’t covered by the curtain. Maybe look at the window shape and have the curtain bend round the whole window so no light comes through.

Handy overnight stop just off the motorway

The staff were welcoming and it wasn't a problem that we booked at the last moment, an hour and a half before arriving. Easy to find, just off the motorway with plenty of parking. Dinner was available in the restaurant after 8pm despite there being a coach party in and we hadn't booked; the food was fine. This was a very handy overnight stop.

The bed wasn't particularly comfortable.

Great location for visit to the National Coalmine Museum. Loved being able to open a window in the bedroom

Stayed here before and it was better then. Bed was so soft I thought it was going to collapse. Air con unit rattling noisily away that ear plugs were needed. Heatwave was hitting at the time so needed to be turned on. No hairdryer in room. Took 15mins to even get a menu in the restaurant for dinner, I was the only other person in there! Younger girl on service just sat around doing nothing with a sour look on her face, complaining to other staff that the restaurant air con was too cold. Eventually served by an older lady who was very helpful.
