Hotel Palazzo San Niccolò & Spa

Location in the old town. Atmosphere. Front desk-reception young lady was very nice and informative to us. Big and spacious room and bathroom.

Our room (very spacious) was on the third floor and elevator goes to 2nd only. You have to carry the luggage very steep stairs. The sofa bad for third person was not comfortable. The lady at the breakfast premises (maybe owner) was in very bad mood. She was kind of ok but not nice and polite. Too much work perhaps.

Excellent location, amazing breakfast

I want to be clear that this review reflects the behavior of a single male receptionist we encountered at check-in, the rest of the staff were genuinely warm and helpful throughout our stay. On arrival, 45 minutes before the 2pm check-in time, this particular receptionist offered no greeting whatsoever and told us we could not wait in the lobby, directing us outside in 30°C heat. We weren’t asking for an early check-in , simply a friendly “welcome, your room will be ready shortly” would have been enough. It was an unnecessarily cold and unwelcoming start to what was otherwise a pleasant stay. To make matters worse, when my partner quietly remarked to another guest that the receptionist was perhaps having a bad day, he came downstairs and confronted my partner directly, demanding he say it to his face. What started as an unwelcoming interaction had now become an intimidating and threatening one. This level of conduct from a front-of-house employee is completely unacceptable and, frankly, alarming. We sincerely hope management addresses this, as it does not reflect the otherwise kind and accommodating team at this hotel.

Very beautiful room and hotel overall. Perfect location. We were in the suite and was very beautiful decorated. Saloon -perfect. Breakfast plentiful.

No Spa!!! Only one but for us a major flaw: since the name implies hotel and spa. Many pictures of the spa in the description. When we went there there was a catch , a little SCAM: spa is located in another building and costs 30 euro for 90 min. For guests costs 25 euro. Reservation advised they say. We went back to the hotel explaining we booked this place for the advertised spa, so the told us we can go for free then. Problem is if we didn’t ask or there was maybe a different person on the front desk, this policy seems like SCAM, since it’s so advertised. Spa itself was rather small, but for a free one was sufficient. If it was free on the first place or was not falsely advertised I would have given 9 points. Now because of this „method“ on a otherwise very good hotel I would give 7.

The location

No parking anywhere near the property, absolutely not for guests with any mobility issues or physical disability. Receptionist commented that she had never seen anyone like me before (a person needing a disability aid!) Not a shining endorsement. The room was far from spotless and it smelled strongly of mould, there was no window at all. Parking & other facilities were not as advertised. The room booked wasn’t available when we arrived.
