The Bergwald was absolutely gorgeous. The view from my balcony was unbelievable. Words can barely describe it. The apartment was impeccably clean and decorated so beautifully and with such care. Katharina was an amazing host and really provided a warm and caring atmosphere. I had a wonderful time. One that I will never forget.

One word, awesome!!

We had the joy of celebrating Christmas with three families in three wonderful apartments at the beautiful and peaceful Bergwald Apartments Alpbach. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. Our host and owner, Katharina, is truly exceptional—her warmth, kindness, attentiveness, and cheerful spirit made our stay feel very special and truly like home. The apartments were spotless and well cared for, and the beds were wonderfully comfortable. On the ground floor, the shared dining area was perfect for our group of twelve and became a lovely place to come together, which added so much to our Christmas experience. The ski storage room with its heated ski boot dryer was a real treat—dry, warm boots the next morning made all the difference. Whether for skiing, hiking, or cycling, we would return without hesitation. We would be delighted to stay again at Bergwald Apartments Alpbach and to be guests of Katharina once more. Thank you so much, Katharina, for your heartfelt hospitality. We wish you all the very best for 2026 and hope to see you again soon.

Perfect Alpine getaway

We were absolutely blown away by this beautiful property in the most charming Alpine town. The property was absolutely perfect. We were warmly greeting when we first arrived by Katerina. She was friendly and helpful throughout our entire trip. Her family has lived here for generations and it was wonderful meeting her and getting her recommendations. The apartments are incredibly well designed, comfortable, and spacious. We stayed in Apartment 1 and had the most stunning balcony overlooking the town. The town of Alpach itself is also amazing - incredibly charming. Perfect location for an Alpine adventure. Could not recommend enough. Would love to return!! Thank you Katerina for the most wonderful time!

I can only say wonderful things about our stay at Bergwald. It has been a true pleasure to stay here. The experience was truly exceptional: cozy, spotless, peaceful, comfortable, and set in an unbeatable environment. On top of that, the service was absolutely wonderful and incredibly attentive. Coming back to the hotel after a full day of exploring was a real delight. Every detail reflects great quality, which makes a big difference when it comes to resting well and enjoying the surroundings. If we return, without a doubt we would love to stay here again. We had a fantastic stay! The location is beautiful, set on a peaceful hillside with great views. The place itself is spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated, making it feel like a home away from home. Cosy stay with the kindest host ever!!

Cosy, quiet and safe. Beautiful place with a stunning view. You really have time to do anything you like because the environment and the surroundings invites you to do cosy stuff. Time stands still. We played at lot of board games and did a lot of crisscross. The shower and the hand soap is the best shower and soap I have experienced at accommodations like this. The comforter is also sooooo good!!!! Katharina is the sweetest and most caring person. You never doubt how important it is to her that the guests do not lack for anything and feel comfortable. At the same time, she really has the ability to read people's needs and leaves you alone with the note that she is only a text message away. Thank you for the most safe-feeling and cosy stay, Katharina. We will see you another time.

Wow! What a view!

Beautiful location. Very peaceful. Gorgeous Austrian chalet with modern amenities such as sauna/relaxation rooms. Our apartment was well equipped and very comfortable with a balcony with a beautiful mountain view. The host is very kind and hospitable and made us feel very welcome.

Fantastic. Alpbach is stunning, Bergwald is charming and Katharina is a fantastic host!

Everything! View was amazing, apartment was cosy and well equipped. Water pressure was amazing which sounds odd but really makes a difference when you get back cold from skiing! Katharina was lovely, answered all of our questions during our stay and even sorted us out with plug adapters when we realised we’d forgotten to bring ours! The ski bus was convenient and reliable.

The only thing I’d say you should be aware of is that the property is about a 15/20 minute walk from the main village where all the shops and restaurants are and it’s up a fairly serious hill… well… mountain! But worth it for the view alone and also means it was incredibly quiet. We only resorted to a taxi once as we ate at a restaurant in the neighbouring village (buses stop about 8pm) but we had to try a few places to get one and it was pretty expensive.

The hotel is excellent! It is located at the top, where you can have the best view of Alpbach. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with all the facilities you could need! The balcony is amazing, with a view that you won't find anywhere! Katharina, our host, was very lovely and helpful and we could always ask her for anything!

The hotel is a bit far from the center of the village - about 30-35 minutes up the hill (for people who aren't used to walking). It was a bit hard to walk up to reach. I would just recommend renting a car or an electric bike (although a bit expensive).

Sehr schön ausgestattetes, blitzsauberes Zimmer. Die Unterkunft liegt sehr ruhig etwas außerhalb des Ortskerns mit einer phantastischen Aussicht. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr freundlich und bemüht sich rührend um das Wohlergehen der Gäste. Im Zimmerpreis war die Alpbach-Card enthalten, mit der man Bergbahnen, Regiobusse und andere Leistungen kostenlos nutzen kann.

La nostra camera era un piccolo gioiello tutta in legno, con una vista mozzafiato sulle montagne e sulle piste. In generale, la struttura era molto curata, pulita e ben organizzata. La zona sauna era bellissima e pulita e c'è anche una stanza apposita per l'attrezzatura da sci con un porta scarponi riscaldato.

Wij hebben genoten van het fijne appartement (2 balkons), sauna, de rust en het prachtige uitzicht!

De prachtige sauna met massagestoel! De eigenaresse doet er alles aan om het haar gasten naar de zin te maken. Handdoeken, wc papier etc alles werd dagelijks aangevuld. We mochten zowel bij (vroege) aankomst en (laat) vertrek onze spullen stallen in de grote ruimte beneden zodat we ook die dagen nog konden skiën. De locatie is uitstekend als je een auto hebt. Ook gaat er een skibus naar de liften (die hebben wij niet gebruikt). Voldoende parkeermogelijkheden bij de accommodatie.
