Stayed at Hotel Excelsior instead as works happening but it was incredible!

We were supposed to stay at this hotel but they were doing renovation works so they accommodated us in their other hotel, The Excelsior. The room, food, pool, access to the sea, general location and staff were all really great. The breakfast had an incredible selection of very high quality foods which I looked forward to every morning.

Couldn't complain really, only one minor irritation was the sauna and steam room weren't always ready first thing in the morning, but thats a very minor problem and everything else was absolutely incredible.

My wife and I travel a lot and had one of the nicest stays at Hotel Bellevue Dubrivnik. Exceptional.

This is our 3rd time to stay at Hotel Bellevue. We return because we love the location, the rooms, and the exceptional service by all the staff. The breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had in my travels. The front deck sent a lovely bottle of wine after learning of my frequent visits to the hotel. Very thoughtful and appreciated.

A wonderful exclusive yet local stay atop the best little beach in Dubrovnik.

Worth the splurge.

Excellent breakfast. Amazing views. Awesome beach. Good local away from the jam packed crowds. Only about a twenty minute walk downhill to Old Town. Great restaurants nearby.

Absolutely everything

Perfect end to a cruise

We ended a cruise in Dubrovnik and we arrived at the hotel at 9 AM. I expected to drop our luggage and go to the beach. However, our room was ready and we were checked in and at the beach quickly. There was a problem with our reservation which the front desk tried to correct while we were swimming. We ended up having both lunch and dinner at the hotel and enjoyed a stunning view with great service at both meals. The waiter recommended a local wine that was great. The room was large with a view of the inlet and beach. This is outside of old town so it was quieter and oh so beautiful.

The room with a balcony and sea views is pricey, but worth the splurge for one night. I had trouble finding my reservation and ended up with duplicate reservations, but the front desk helped sort that out.

Everything is excellent in this hotel: location, facilities, service, pool and beach, cleanliness, decoration that makes for a friendly, modern, attractive space. And of course the most important asset, great, ready to assist at any time staff.

Amazing, unique, wonderful property - Gym lets it down but easily sorted - You must go

Extremely unique property on the side of a cliff. Climb up the mountain and jump into the crystal clear sea water! If it’s not your thing, don’t worry just watch others - It’s amazing entertainment !

The gym is far too small and needs attention immediately. It’s the size of a match box and impossible to train in.

Good Boutique Hotel

Our room faced Bellevue Beach and had a lovely view. It was a good sized room. The bed was comfortable. The staff are always polite and friendly and greet you. The breakfast was excellent. A shuttle bus was provided to their sister properties to swim, and we really enjoyed that.

The beach was unable to be accessed from the hotel but there were lots of people swimming there, you can get there from a path/ steps. I also did not like the bathroom, it was not comfortable to use as it was previously an accessible room.

It was close to old town via bus or a 20 minute walk.

There’s no pool. The food wasn’t great. Staff were not extremely helpful. Considering we paid a total of £16,000 it was not worth it.

Exceptional Hotel

The staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was amazing and the view from the terrace was exceptional. They upgraded our room and sent a birthday cake to our suite as they noticed it was my husband’s birthday whilst checking our passports at check in.

The staff were very polite and helpful. The food was amazing and much better than anything we ate in town. Breakfast was fantastic with so much choice and everything was really fresh. Our room was spotless and had everything we needed.

There was no access to the beach which was a real shame.

Lovely hotel

Lovely clean hotel with great staff and facilities. Breakfast was lovely. Balcony room had a beautiful view.

Due to local restrictions, the beach was closed, however the hotel did provide a transfer to their sister hotel. It would be nice if there was milk in the room and that the room teas & coffees were filled daily, rather than the responsibility falling to the guest to phone for replacements.

Great stay

Great hotel with a beautiful view and great personnel. Nice and clean rooms, excellent served breakfast. Only 15 mins walk to the old town.

Because of the nice and warm weather I was missing place for sunbathing ie outdoor pool / sunbathing area. The beach in front of the hotel was closed but went to see it anyway and it was really dirty (lots of plastic bottles and carpage) though it looks nice in the evening pictures.

Good breakfast choice. Staff were helpful and friendly. We had a problem in our room and staff helped us to move to an upgraded room.

Gym is very small and only really useable with no one else in. Walk to old town was around 20 minutes but was quite uneven and uphill on way back so would not recommend for those with walking difficulties. Hotel had a restaurant but quite expensive and not many restaurants in local area so we walked to the old town most nights. Outdoor area was closed also to renovate for summer season so we only had use of indoor pool

Romantic Haven

The staff were attentive and very willing and happy to help. In the restaurant cloths and napkins pristine, plenty of staff to serve. Breakfast choices extensive and delicious. Our room was upgraded which was a lovely surprise and possible I guess due to preseason. The room executive double with sitting area had a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. All furnishings light in colour, clean. A restful room. The bedroom is on the small side but the bed was large and very comfortable. It was my partner's birthday during the stay and the hotel surprised him with a card and delicious small cake. How kind! Ivana was excellent for advice on visits and general information on Croatia, Petra gave a great recommendation for Proto fish restaurant, and there were a few very attentive waiters Darko and Viktor among them.

A great location , helpful staff and great views. Breakfast was excellent

There was a lack of atmosphere in the lounge at night . A piano might have added more atmosphere . We stayed 5 nights and the short menu didn’t change so we only ate dinner once . At lunchtime and early afternoon there were no snacks available. Gazpacho soup was delicious but not as light lunch every day . Probably a hotel for a two night tourist break rather than a relaxing holiday break.

A home away from home

To begin with the hotel has a modern design. Very easy to navigate the interior of the building. It has some fantastic vies over the sea. The staff are very helpful and genuinely caring. The food at both breakfast time and dinner times is very good and of such a variety that someone with dietary preferences can find something suitable. The closeness to the old town is really a plus over the other pluses. It’s too bad that the weather did not permit experiencing the beach in this property. My room was a spacious sea facing room and the bathroom was equally spacious. I can’t single out any one staff member in particular. Every one I interacted with were very friendly.

I can’t say that the term did not like applies to my experience in the property. There was nothing I did not like. But somethings could have been done better for sure. I used the spa and had to request for towels and slippers. These items are usually kept in the locker for customers but here the lockers were completely empty. My room overlooks a terrace that overlooks the sea. Privacy would be an issue if the shutters are opened. So although I had a sea view, I could not leave the shutters open to wake up to the rising sun for example. But that gives me the impetus to leave the room early to enjoy the view in another spot in the hotel.

Fantastic views in modern hotel

The hotel is in a very special location with magnificent views. The private/public beach is good fun. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The dining/bar options are faultless. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and professional.

The exterior of the hotel is very ugly. 1980s style blue glass and chrome. If I hadn't already paid for the hotel I might have told the taxi to keep driving. All is well however, once you enter. It has had a very tasteful, modern refurbishment, and when you see the views, you almost forget about the blue glass

This was absolutely a wonderful stay and sets the bar high for future visits to other locations.

The room was very comfortable and high quality. I was able to open the patio door at night and let the sea breeze waft in and cool my room. I was able to look out from my balcony at the sea and beaches below.
