Astounding old town, great guest house.

Perfect location to explore the mazy old town and around. Lively and colourful neighbourhood. Very neat and tidy guest house (and quiet when we were there). Our bedroom was spacious, spotless, comfortable . Bed & bed sheets were top-notch. Last but not least, our host Francesco was very pleasant, responsive, discreet and provided valuable information about the neighbourhood. Everything there was great! Highly recommended!

Central location in Genoa

The location is central, close to the Porto Antico, Piazza Ferrari and overall clean. The owner weary helpful with good recommendations. Lots of restaurants and shops around.

There are some stairs to climb but the owner advised us beforehand and offered support. It is also written in the description. But it’s not suitable for elderly people. There is no air conditioning, just a fan and it was hot and you can’t really keep your windows open because it is a lot of noise from outside.

A very enjoyable stay in a great location.

The location was amazing! Only about a 3 minute walk to the beautiful square. There is an amazing beach that’s only 20 minutes by train from the centre. The host was lovely and gave us recommendations for beaches and restaurants which we tried out and were great.

The only downside is the stairs. There are 6 flights of stairs going up to the room which is on the top floor which was hard to walk up in the heat sometimes. But for the amazing price and location it was worth it. There is no air conditioning system in place but the host gave us powerful fans which worked just fine.

Great location, and welcoming and approachable host.

Old Town Guest House offered a clean and comfortable room in an ideal location in the Genoa city centre. The street it is situated on is lively and quite safe even at night. You can easily walk to almost all of the major attractions in Genoa from here, as well as the Piazza Principe and Brignole train stations, within 15 minutes. Piazza de Ferrari is a five minute walk away, and from there you can easily catch the Volabus shuttle to and from the airport in thirty minutes or less. Our host Francesco was extremely organised, approachable and kind. Although the apartment is located on the upper floors of the building and there is no elevator, he ensured that he was always present to carry our suitcases up and down the stairs when checking in and out. He was easy to contact throughout our stay, and was diligent with ensuring the shared bathroom was cleaned regularly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a conveniently located and well-maintained place to stay in Genoa.

The walk up and down the several flights of stairs when entering and leaving the property may pose an issue for older or less physically abled people. For everyone else it should not be much of an issue.

Perfect for my stay!

Excellent location with lots of good shops and eating options close by. Host was very professional and gave information about restaurants, beaches and breakfast places. Room was really clean and so was my en suite bathroom, really good shower too. Bed clean and comfortable. The bathroom had soap and shower gel provided. Also a hairdryer in the closet which I didn't use. Socket by the bed, good lighting and windows. The guest house itself was quiet and did not see anyone during my stay, after the host greeted me for check in. Great value for money. Really enjoyed my stay and very easy check out.

Nothing I didn't like but there are some downsides for some. No elevator, but was offered a hand with my bags on arrival. The steps are quite steep at bits but manageable. The street below is noisy in the evening. It didn't bother me it, it was comforting in a way being a solo traveler getting back to the room late and it wasn't too loud. Always got a good sleep! Google maps took me a dodgy route getting there with one side street. Thankfully it was day time but be careful travelling alone or at night like you would any city.

The location was amazing. Large comfy room and the Wi-Fi was great. usually in Italy I have found poor connectivity at hotels, but not here.

Great place near old town and aquarium

Located in the city center, very close to the port and the aquarium and also the old town center. Francesco is very friendly and flexible.

I could use some more space in the bathroom and the bed was not that comfy, however for the price we paid, it was great. It is noisy, however it is said in the decription!

Great location Via Luccoli was lovely. The room was cool and very clean. Great shower. Good to have access to a kettle and fridge. The WiFi worked which is a big deal to me. Nice work space for those who need it. The bed was very comfortable and lots of cupboards space.

A little kitchen space would have been nice but one can’t have everything. I found the steps a bit much. Slightly dodgy knee! However was helped out by the host with my bags.

Very central location in the medieval centre of Genova. Nice room with a comfortable bed. The bathroom is shared, but with only 2 other rooms. We didn't notice any other guests using the bathroom, it was clean all the time.

It's an old building without lift, it's 81 steps up from the street level. But we knew and have young legs.

Very relaxing

The location is superb set as it is in the heart of the old city and its medieval quarter. The room was simple but the bed was exceptionally comfortable for me. It was also very quiet. Francesco the host was welcoming and business-like. There is no traffic on the street - although there is a taxi rank not terribly far away.

The room is at the top of an old building with very steep staircases which might make access difficult for some with walking or mobility issues.

Francesco (the host) is very helpful and kind. He cared about us and other guests a lot. He recommended us a variety of places to eat and beaches to visit. Everything in the apartment was clean and tidy. The place has also great location in the middle of the old town. Worth coming!

Location is good. Facilities are comfortable. There was a fan to cool down. Enough outlets for everyones devices. Owner provides things like cutlery and towels if asked.

There was only one key for 3 people in our room. There was also one small frige for all booked rooms.

The room is quite big and located in the middle of the city centre. Just all the things you need if you’re on a citytrip but nothing more. The host was welcoming, he lives in the same apartment (upstairs) but never saw him after the check-in.

The furniture was all very basic and white, something could have easily be added to make it more cosy or nice. The bathroom and especially the shower are quite small, but again just what you need, nothing more. Be aware that the apartment is located in a very noisy street! I woke up super early every Morning because of the noise outside, so if you need your rest, this might not be the right place...

Bien pour quelques jours

Le gérant était très accueillant et flexible, le logement super bien placé, la literie très confortable, l'ensemble très très propre ! Je n'avais pas bien lu l'annonce en réservant concernant la salle de bain partagée mais finalement elle était très propre et je n'ai jamais attendu pour pouvoir l'utiliser !

Doskonała lokalizacja w samym środku starego miasta. Blisko do wszystkich atrakcji Genui, podobny dystans do każdego z dwóch dworców Genova Principe i Genova Brignole, z których można się dostać do Portofino, Cinque Terre, pobliskich miasteczek nadmorskich czy Mediolanu. Bardzo dobry kontakt z gospodarzem Francesco. Pomagał nam ze wszystkim, czego potrzebowaliśmy, rekomendował miejsca z jedzeniem i dobrą kawą. Pokój przestronny, czysty. Mieszkanie dobrze wyposażone. Wiedzieliśmy, że nie ma klimatyzacji, lecz wentylator nad łóżkiem daje radę nawet w lipcowe upały. Wiedzieliśmy, że apartament jest na wyższym piętrze bez windy i nie mieliśmy z tym problemu. Francesco oferował nam pomoc z bagażami; podróżujemy z plecakami, więc nie potrzebowaliśmy pomocy. Zaskoczył nas tylko brak słuchawki prysznicowej - pod prysznicem jest jedynie deszczownica. Za to jest bidet. Bardzo udany pobyt!
