UNFORGETTABLE STAY

We loved everything since we parked the car. The property looks like a little Chateau and once we got in, we felt like being at home. Fabrice is just a great host. He treated us like family and gave us excellent suggestions about sightseeing. We just had breakfast and it was wonderful: the homemade "French Toast" was very delicious. The room was nice and welcoming. The bed was so comfortable and all was perfectly clean. Even if we saw him just for a minute, Ludwig (the dog) was so friendly and we would have loved to play with him for more time. The property is very close to Chenounceax, it's 20 minutes drive from Amboise and not too far from Tours, Cheverny and Chamord. We won't hesitate to stay at Maison Leonard in case we'd come back in the Loire Valley again.

La Maison Leonard is a newly renovated old house right in the middle of Loire Valley with a close proximity to gorgeous chateaus, charming villages and great restaurants. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious and extremely clean. The dinner and breakfasts were delicious and elegantly served on the terrace. Breakfast had plenty of sweet and savory options. Homemade jams and tapioca pudding were to die for. And I have to mention the beautiful garden that makes this place truly magical!

Luxurious, relaxing stay

Excellent breakfast, loved the home made preserves & touches. Perfect hosts, so attentive & friendly, Patrice & Thierry run an excellent establishment. Evening meals were delicious & again included ingredients from their own garden. Rooms beautifully appointed & were very comfortable. Location excellent for visits to Amboise & Chateau de Chenonceau. Parking good, after a busy day good to park up & have a walk at the side of the river Cher. A good time experienced by all 3 of us! Thank you Patrice, Thierry, Ludwig & Mr Wong.

Perfection

We were very impressed by every aspect of this hotel beginning with the reception by the delightful owner. Fabrice , who treated us to a glass of excellent champagne in the garden. The decorations were exquisite and reflected the work of a well known interior decorator . Breakfast was very good indeed, including scrambled eggs, which were cooked to perfection by Fabrice . I have mobility problems but managed the staircase OK. I wonder whether a rail by the stairs would help at reasonable cost. We thank Fabrice mille fois for a truly memorable experience!

Stayed in May for two nights. Fabrice and Thierry are incredible hosts. We view this accommodation as 5* B&B in terms of guest attentiveness, overall cleanliness and quality of breakfast. Warm welcome. Assist moving heavy luggage to room. Extremely clean and attractive guest room with daily room cleaning. Hearty breakfast with great coffee, quality food and service. Fabrice possesses wealthy knowledge of tourist attractions, French history and beyond. Would like to take this opportunity to be specially thankful to Fabrice and Thierry making our stay exceptional.

Lovely House and Garden with welcoming hosts

Very welcoming hosts - Fabrice was very attentive and ready to help, offering advice on restaurants and local sights. Lovely house and garden in a very convenient location. We enjoyed a drink in the garden before going out to dinner (it was a pity we weren't visiting on a night when dinner was available). Breakfast was excellent. A good experience for our short stay.

Warm,inviting, elegant and peaceful

The hosts Fabrice and Thierry were exceptional! Fabrice was warm and inviting and oh so friendly and helpful! His breakfast was not only delicious but elegant! Limoges china, crystal and silver! The house is gorgeous, Thierry's gardens spectacular! The eggs and many of the fruits are from the property and the other foods are locally sourced including delicious homemade jams from Thierry's Mother. The rooms are elegantly appointed and so peaceful. A short drive to the lovely town of Amboise where Leonardo DaVinci is buried and close to many Chateaux! We all wish we could have stayed a lot longer! I cannot wait for an opportunity (or an excuse) to return! My review would not be complete without mentioning their dog Ludwig and their cat Mr. Wong! Both beautiful and helped me with my sadness at missing my own dog at home!

An oasis in Bléré

The house was beautifully decorated, the garden was in bloom and the breakfast was delicious. Fabrice and Thierry are perfect hosts, gracious and hospitable. Fabrice is a marvelous cook and the aromas emanating from the rhubarb tart were mouth watering. We felt very welcome as we sipped our complimentary champagne while touring the garden.

We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and the whole experience was truly memorable, from the attention of the hosts, the standard of accommodation, the dinner was superb and the location. Definitely consider a revisit if we visit again.

It was like staying with old friends that treated you like royalty.

Breakfast was so delicious and served on beautiful china. Magnificent French toast, scrambled eggs, fruit salad, assorted breads and cakes all served to us. We never felt so pampered. Beautiful home filled with antiques. When we arrived, we were offered champagne or other beverages in the beautiful and fragrant garden where we visited with the owners and other guests. The owner found us dinner reservations. Our best bed and breakfast experience ever. Large room and bath decorated elegantly but comfortably. Large fan provided and windows could be left open because house was set back from the street, unlike so many in this area. Gated area for parking. Everything was so well thought out.

Unsurpassable. The best stay we had in France.

The hosts, Fabrice & Thierry were both very friendly and welcoming, greeting us outside on arrival. Their manner and attention to detail was impeccable. We loved their home and the beautiful room we had, with the lovely shuttered windows, looking out over the back garden. Very comfortable bed with beautiful linen. Great shower. Fabrice & Thierry shared the history of their home, which was very special. We appreciated all the helpful advice which made our visit to the surrounding Chateaux even more enjoyable. The breakfast was divine; fresh and beautifully presented. And the big pot of quality tea of your preference was much appreciated! We were fortunate to reserve dinner on 2 evenings. 4 courses prepared/cooked by Fabrice & Thierry - absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Served on the terrace on a warm evening. Both amongst the best dinners we have had and the most memorable evenings. The best stay we had throughout 3 weeks in France, we really did not want to leave! Thank you Fabrice & Thierry.

Delightful - highly recommend!

Our overnight stay with Fabrice and Thierry was nothing short of delightful. They are incredibly welcoming and warm whilst in the background so attentive to detail in their hospitality. Maison Leonard itself is exceptional as a property: very tastefully renovated but the quiet luxury of the furnishings down to the Baccarat coffee cups in the room shows such care. A simple but delicious evening meal at €29 per person accompanied by an excellent wine list was so relaxing and appreciated. The garden is fantastic and we loved Ludwig, the Weimeraner’s, company. Faultless and have already recommended to friends.

Lovely house and gardens, comfortable and beautiful room, perfect hosts and great dinners.

Breakfast was nice and very promptly available. There was a nice selection of breakfast rolls, pastries, yoghurt for self service. The owner started each meal with fresh OJ and a fruit plate along with your choice of hot beverage. My husband had scrambled eggs each morning too. I really only care about coffee which was lovely. House and grounds were lovely and quiet. Our room was really beautiful and the shower was very nice. Their back gardens were very pretty with plenty of places to sit. Dinner was fabulous and served on their terrace. As we came out into the garden each evening before dinner our hosts always greeted us and offered us a glass of champagne to start off our evening. You definitely want to have your dinner at their house. It is delicious, beautifully presented, very filling and a great value. What makes this a unique property are the hosts - they are wonderful! I wish i had contacted them ahead of time to ask for their suggestions on planning our days before our arrival.

An excellent and memorable stay, so many thanks

From start to finish we had an excellent stay at Maison Leonard. The welcome, facilities, cleanliness, food, attention and local knowledge were all excellent. Fabrice and Thierry could not have done more to make us welcome and enable an excellent stay, and Blere is very quiet but well situated for visits to all attractions in the Loire valley, being a 10 minute drive from Amboise. Thoroughly recommended, and if we can we will be back.

Breakfast was lovely with a good variety. Freshly made scrambled eggs if you wanted. Home made confitures. A fantastic evening meal was also available if ordered at breakfast time. The garden was a lovely place to sit and relax and enjoy a drink after visiting the local chateaux. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
