Beautiful period cottage, stunning location, all the mod cons for a wonderful stay in Matlock!

The location of Riber View (perfect name) is perfectly placed at the top of the hill meaning that although we had tired legs after visiting the town, the views were spectacular, especially from the beautifully manicured front garden. We loved the quirky layout of this beautiful cottage, the abundance of crockery, beautiful glassware, fantastic collection of kitchen utensils, huge fridge freezer, oven, hob dishwasher, toaster, kettle, microwave, large kitchen table and lovely belfast sink! A sack of logs, kindling and papers were also provided so we could light the log burner when things cooled in the evenings. The decor is of a high standard and extremely comfortable plus dog friendly too! We had several phone calls in the week before our arrival checking our arrival and departure details and how we wanted the rooms configured which was really helpful. We all agreed, we would love to come and stay again as there is so much to explore just over an hour away from our usual yorkshire home! Thanks so much for having us!

Unfortunately, the arrival day email never reached us with the key safe details, directions, wifi, etcetc. However, the contact number on the booking.com link took us to the management company who were very helpful who then connected us to the cleaning company in the area. They could not have been more helpful! Went above and beyond and we really appreciated this. From what we understand, this was a problem because we had booked with booking.com and not directly meaning the owner was not able to contact us directly with that extra arrival day info that is their usual practice. Although this happened, it didn't make any difference to our enjoyment or experiences but I wanted to log it in case it happened to anyone else to reassure others to use the number on your booking and things will be sorted. Also worth noting, there is no soap in the bathrooms so pop some in your washbag. We were unprepared for this but had brought some washing up liquid so used that instead as that was provided in the kitchen.

Nice cottage and good location but could be cleaner

Good location and nice cottage

Not very clean when we arrived. The hob was dirty and the blankets smelt like wet dog. I had to email to get the key collection details and they were not very easy to get in touch with as they didn't use the booking.com messenger.

Really enjoyed our pre Christmas stay, the cottage and Matlock well worth visiting.

Spacious and comfortable

Parking a little difficult but we have a big car. If you reverse on the short road and then into the spot, much easier.

River View is comfortable, well equipped and located very close to Matlock town centre and Matlock Bath. Walking distanc

It worked really well for our family, 1 child, 1 baby & 4 adults. Plenty of room to have your own space. Lots of kitchen utensils, cups and plates…better than most we’ve been too.

Liked everything….but it could do with an upgrade vacuum cleaner and one that doesn’t obstruct the kitchen back door….(only a minor issue.

Lovely cottage with everything you need for your stay ,kitchen well equipped,shower and bath,large sitting room and situated close to town centre but nice and quiet tucked down a small lane.

Pleasant and suitable with a few problems we could have done without.

Location was quiet and pleasant. Property was clean and was fully equipped.

The handle of one of the bedrooms stuck which made it impossible to get out of the room, it was lucky we were with family who could open it from the outside. We were then unable to close the door for the rest of the stay. On the second day the TV went wrong meaning that we could hear it but did not get a picture. The parking spaces were quite difficult to get in and not really enough room for 2 cars unless they were very small ones which meant having to park across the road.

Would definitely recommend this property, a lovely place to return to after a day out exploring

Lovely quiet location but you’re only a short ride away from the centre of things. Kitchen is really well equipped and we found the house to be comfortable, welcoming and warm. The welcome hamper was a perfect addition and we would be more than happy to book this property again

The stairs are fairly steep so it perhaps wouldn’t be suitable for those with mobility issues
