Nice quiet garden and pool.

It was unbearably hot and we had no choice but to open the windows…. (No AC …just a very noisy fan ) Woke up covered in bites. It was not a great start of holiday experience. The bed was very small and uncomfortable.

A wonderful Place to be 🫶🏻

I found a little piece of paradise. Everything was very clean, cosy and beautiful. A lovely little garden with birds to watch and a small pool. It is located in a very quiet and safe area, only a 12-minute walk from the beach, shops, restaurants, etc. Thank you again, Shelley! I really felt at home and will definitely be back

Weekend getaway

The location was in a really peaceful and quiet place. The cottage was OK for a weekend getaway. We loved the garden area...very tranquil but we hardly used it because of snakes and baboons... Which thank goodness we did not encounter during our stay. Kommetjie is known for snakes and baboons but you just have to be awake and alert.

It wasn't there problem we had 4hrs of loadshedding but they can invest in a mini UPS and a mini gas burner just for these times. It's crap having to sit without wifi or even having to wait to boil some water for a cup of coffee 🙄 The geyser also goes off a certain time so no hot water for a shower 😒😏maybe change the shower timer to accommodate for loadshedding afterall we do get a loadshedding schedule. The seating in the lounge is not really comfortable when wanting to cuddle and watch a movie, so we ended up watching Netflix on our phones in the bedroom. Only dstv on the premises which most people are use to... No Netflix or showmax... Maybe another thing to consider 👍👍We didn't even bother to use the pool as it had bugs and insects in.. The water was OK but we did not swim coz of spiders and other things floating in the pool.

Tranquil haven of comfort.

Our gracious host ensured that every amenity was available for a comfortable stay - comfortable bedding, ample crockery and cutlery, tranquil and peaceful garden setting, cleanliness and privacy. The tucked away cottage offered so much privacy, we could enjoy a couples massage from a mobile spa who set up at the pool side. Absolute bliss :) Thank you Shelley - so glad that we found your little gem.

The peace and tranquility loved the pool, pity on last day weather was perfect for it so could only spend less time in it. Loved loved the bed so comfortable

Disappointing

Private pool was a nice touch.

Bed was uncomfortable. Old towels which desperately need replacing. TV not working as not connected. No water or milk provided. Host didn’t inform us about water problems in area & not to drink the water from the taps as per official statement released by City of CT during our stay.

FANTASTIC cottage with extremely helpful hosts...so relaxing

FANTASTIC......Geoff was there to welcome me and gave me a detailed account of all the facilities. Great knowledge of the surrounding areas. Pool a huge plus for a dip in the afternoon. Walks on Longbeach or on the hills surrounding the property are perfect. Shelley and Geoff asked me to join them on a walk which was great as they took the time to fill me in on the places we visited along the way. There are a few local restaurants and takeaways in walking distance also a deli, grocery store and convenience store at the Shell garage 5-10minutes walk from the cottage. If you are reading this review just book it.

Fantastic hosts

Shelley and her husband were amazing hosts. Very friendly, easy going and accommodating! They were always available if/when we needed them but also gave us space and the freedom to use their garden, braai (BBQ) and pool.

Extremely disappointing.

The host was helpful and has gone to a lot of trouble to create a pleasant environment. The location was good and felt safe and the rooms were well appointed with clean linen and towels. This would be a perfect stay for smokers, BUT as non-smokers it was appalling.

The rooms, furniture and particularly the bedding stank of cigarette smoke. Strong smelling reed diffusers - possibly intended to mask the smell, added to the discomfort. This was misleadingly advertised as Non-Smoking accommodation and I had specifically requested a Non-Smoking Room and pillows. A non-smoking sign was posted on the microwave, but in the drawer that held the instructions was a very large ashtray. Even sleeping with all windows open for 4 nights did not alleviate the discomfort of the horrible smell of stale cigarette smoke that permeated everything.

A perfect wekeend

The apartment was perfectly equipped and decorated. Very spacious and certainly very quiet. I would highlight the private pool and the kindness of the hosts, who were certainly super gentle and attentive. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Worth every cent.

We loved the fact that it was so intimate (very comfortable), also its a 10 minute walk away from the stores and the beach. The garden is a big plus as it attracts birdlife and we enjoyed their song throughout the day. I also enjoyed reading the books they had. We loved our stay there. A definite must for any couple.

The fact that the bedside table stood right in front of one of the cupboard doors. The place also seemed a little bit smaller than in the pictures.
