Oxford - Rodzinny apartment w spokojnej Sopockiej kamienicy by Lion Apartments

The apartment felt really airy and spacious with comfortable beds. Easily big enough to accommodate five people both bedrooms are big with wide beds. Located in a lovely old building with other residences but it was very quiet dispite being near to the road. The immediate area is very 'Polish' basic cafes, fruitshop, bycicle hire, deli etc and it was 'rustic' but really nice and everyone we met were kind and helpful. The position is about one mile(max) from the centre of Sopot but do not let this put you off. The beach which is beatiful, clean and sandy is a two minute walk away and there is a very safe broad path with a seperate cycle lane running along side it that stretches for miles (we walked it) it is flat and well used and a pleasant 10 to 15 minute walk to the centre. Along this path are many cafes/ restaurants whether heading to Sopot or in the opposite direction towards Gdansk. For most of our stay we walked everywhere but there are buses

Absolutely nothing with the accommodation and Sopot but Parking is the biggest 'bug bear' we hired a car and apart from a couple of days it was stood and payingfor that privelige can get annoying. There was no parking available with the accommodation but even if there was it will cost, prices tend to be around £18 to £24 a day. There is plenty of on street parking that is roughly £1.80 an hour but you pay from 09:00 to 22:00hrs. There are also plenty of private parking spots in the area from £10 to £15 a day that you book online and it isn't easy so you're better off booking for the whole stay (but can you then go back and forth, who knows) We by chance ended up (after paying for a couple of days) parking in a residential area about 15 minutes walk away that was free but pretty sure the residents weren't happy and we basically abandoned the car for 4 days. This seems to be the same for all accommodation in Sopot and is not a reflection on the 'Oxford' and is just something you have to consider. My advice is if you are only going to Sopot with an odd day in Gdansk forget car hire and get a taxi from the airport and the bus, train, tram to Gdansk.
